In my opinion Perris will not make it at the SWANS........he will end up at the Demons or Giants

I know alot of people said that about Sam Mitchell or Campbell Brown but I just think like Josh Kennedy - Perris has talent but too many in front of him at the Bloods

Has Perris under performed this year? I remember last year that the Swans Chairmen went to huge lengths to make sure that Perris signed for the Swans, causing a public slanging match with a popular ex club coach.
I thought that Perris must be a absolute gun for two club greats to start fighting over him.

I thought Perris would be the rookie upgrade early this year, but Lloyd beat him too it.

I noticed that he was in the best reserves players last game!

I hope Longmire & co are watching the Geelong v north game. Geelong's ball movement has been fantastic in the first quarter.

To be fair NM showed very little pressure. When the heat was on Geelong looked fragile and were quite startled.

I agree with your thinking Matt 80 but with a big reservation. What if Tom is a potential Gary Ablett Jnr.!! We haven't really had a chance to see what he is capable of in the seniors. He seems to pick up another injury before he has gained momentum. I would like to see him get back into the team and stay there for the rest of the season. We could not let him go without knowing more of what he has to offer.

If we remain injury free the suggestion of dropping Laidler, with Macca dropping back, could be the way to go. We could end up with a team which has a ruck, 4 forwards, 4 backs and all the rest mids!

I think we'll need Laidler to fill the holes against the Cats. They rotate a lot of mids through the forward line and we really need to be on our toes to pick them up. You're not going to beat them by bombing it long into the forward line either. It's hard to take too much out of the NM game, because I think we'll play very differently. They did a really poor job defensively, particularly picking up players on the rebound. I can't believe they let Bartel get so much of the ball.

Just spoke to an RAMS player who said Isaac Heeney is a "freak" (exceptional talent) and would easily go top 10. That would be great for the Swans as their first pick will be 15 and over.

If Heeney is exceptional why do we need Tom Mitchell standing in his way? Kennedy, Parker are the star inside extractors. Mitchell may be surplus to requirements. We also have Lloyd doing a good job and he costs less than Mitchell.

I would like Membrey to stay to play the Goodes role after this year. Towers and Mitchell may be able to improve our position in the draft. We have great rookies and a good 2013 draft intake. A good 2014 intake led by Heeney will set us up into the later years of Buddy's contract.

Mitchell has shown, in half a season of AFL footy, that he has the makings of an elite midfielder at AFL level.

Heeney is showing promise at under 18 level.....Yet somehow you read this as; "Mitchell standing in his way"??

BTW Mitchell was touted as the possible No.1 pick a year before the draft. And that was by professional recruiters, not a Rams player.

As for Towers, he as not yet dominated even one game at NEAFL level. At this stage his trading value is diddly squat.

Matt, rather than becoming fixated with trading one of our future stars, why not enjoy the moment...

The boys are starting to hit their straps, we have virtually no injuries, and therefore plenty of depth.

Huge game this week and I for one hope Mitchell is in the line up.

Tim Membry is working his arse off, and is much better this year than last. More finesse. He is also a lot better now than at the start of the season. Which means he is still growing into his ability. He will definitely make the starting line up, but maybe not this year. I am not sure he will mind this. He is being coached on ground by one of the best, which is priceless.

In fact all the boys seem to be learning all areas of the ground, not just their key positions. Smart move by the coaches.

I see Towers forming a lethal, fast running half back line with Rohan, Rampe and potentially Aliir over the next three seasons to cover the Shaw, Malceski and Richards retirements.

The changes I would like to see for this week:

Out: Shaw, B. Jack
Ins: McGllyn, Mitchell

Of course, Goodes is not going to be rested this week but I really think a full game(s) in the ressies is what he needs right now to bring him up to peak form. His lost touch and needs to get his hands on the footy again in match conditions.
In so far as Shaw is concerned I would like to see McVeigh back in the HB line and Mitchell brought into the midfield/forward line along with Ben.

I think you'll find that the stats will show his disposal efficiency is one of the best in the team. And though we haven't seen it yet in the seniors, he's more than capable of kicking a goal for beyond fifty

Nah. It's their week off. I doubt they'd be watching any football.

I think we have a good balance in the midfield now which suits our new forward line set up. We're winning enough of the ball in the middle, thanks a lot to Joey K, and the current midfield group has been doing well moving the ball on the outside. It may be worth noting that ROK and Mitchell played the first 4 games before going out for the round 5 game. We lost 3 out of 4 of those games. Since then we brought Lloyd in and have won all 5 of those games.

With Benny coming in, I suppose suppose Lloyd might be the sub again. If Mitchell takes his place, does he become the sub, or does Cunningham take green vest? I thought Harry would be a good matchup for Stokes.

I would like to see Mitchell in the seniors, and Rohan as well, but I'm not sure how they would improve the current team.

Everyone talks about what happened last year after the buy. The ground was wet and Port were better than what we gave them credit for.

The buy has been great for players like Tippett, Reid, Goodes and Franklin who had early season injuries. McVeigh and Jack would have also improved the niggles they were carrying.

We really should beat Geelong on Thursday. They will be more fatigued and may not have Tom Lonigan. Harry Taylor did an excellent job on Tippett last year, but without Lonigan the defence will be stretched. The close checking roles that Cunningham, McGlynn, Nick Smith and Rhyce Shaw do will also be vital.
