I believe that Booing any player or official on a sporting field is uncivilised and poor form. Players and officials always give their best and should be treated with the upmost of respect.
It?s not a crime to clap when an opposition player does something memorable. The Swans bench showed the way with their applause of Jeremy Howes screamer on Heath Grundy head two years ago.Comment

Having watched the footy with you for 20 years you would agree that it is very rare to hear Swans supporters boo a footballer, unless he does some darstardly act.But to continue to boo that player the next season doesn't happen from Swans supporters. It would be interesting to find out why the pack mentality exists with some clubs but not others.Comment

Hall was booed, when he played for the Bulldogs and the SCG. He was disappointed.

I love booing, even when it's completely unwarranted. I think it's part of the fun. I don't normally boo players, except for Hayden Ballantyne (surely that's allowed?) I generally boo when I pretend to think that a free should be paid for, or if a soft free is paid, even if it's not even genuine. I too also clap great plays. The Geelong game in 2012 sticks out in my mind where there was tons of great crowd involvement, some of it was a bit excessive but meh it's part of the live experience. I did have to tell someone off for screaming "playing like a bitch" saying they'd gone too far. I dislike when people complain when other are "cheering too loudly", if you don't like it, get earplugs or a private box. As long as they're not being obnoxious, swearing, gross etc. Those clappers are annoying though when they're right in your ear.Comment

Of course it doesn't reflect the views of the entire Essendon supporter base. To suggest that it does would be plainly ridiculous, but it's very clear that racism remains a problem in this country. Identifying instances of it is not "playing the racist card". It's directing our attention to where it needs to go.Comment

Don't EVER, EVER take any notice of what Brereton says about whether a player plays the game fairly or otherwise. As a footballer he had no moral compass whatsoever, and he is in no position to pontificate about the way others conduct themselves. Ignore him.Comment
