Well we could point out to Eddie that the Trade Ban on the Swans is also hurting the Pies. A realistic trade scenario could have been that we swapped Lumumba and Malceski. That would have been a big win for Collingwood and the Swans would also have been better off with Lumumba rather than Pick 39. I would rate AA Malceski as a better fit for Collingwood than Varcoe who they ended up with. I get some small consolation in thinking that the trade ban may have actually disadvantaged Collingwood.

Matt, you are correct about Fat Eddie winning. He is in an incredibly strong and influential position. I don't necessarily blame him for this; the VFL management should have enough gumption and backbone to be objective in their decision making.
