50 Shades of Gray, brought sexual fantasy to life for women. It does not mean that all the women who read the book are converting their garages into bondage theatres or dumping their husbands for young billionaires. It simply filled a gap in the market that was unfulfilled.

People control the media not media executives.
You're right Matt. Fat Eddie is the classic example of this. He is abrasive but successful. People listen to him because they think he will have something salacious to say (not me; I refuse to listen to Fox or MMM on principle). It's why women read the total carp that's in New Idea, Women's Weekly and Woman's Day. Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. People want to be fed the information they want to be true, (ie. ABC and SBS).

It is but the saddest part is that the commissioners would never elect someone like that because the AFL is a VFL boys club. We would need to see someone from interstate being made CEO first.

This is how Vistoria centric they are; Mike Fitzpatrick (Vic-Carlton), Gillon McLachlan (Vic-St.Kilda), Bill Kelty (Vic-Essendon), Chris Langford (Vic-Hawthorn), Sam Mostyn (Lives in Sydney but has never supported anyone) Justice Linda Dessau (Vic-Essendon), Richard Goyder (Freo), Paul Bassat (Vic) and Kim Williams (NSW-Port Adelaide). Half of the AFL's team are interstate yet only two of the commissioners, Goyder and Williams, are truly interstate (albeit Eddie's mates).

The recent appointee's, and probably the others, have been decided on by sub-committee's. Mr Williams? nomination for example was recommended by a sub-committee consisting of Eddie McGuire, Alan Cransberg, Linda Dessau and Mike Fitzpatrick. Why should club presidents be having any say in this at all? They're not impartial. Fat Eddie has his fingers in every single AFL pie and the CEO's and Commissioners should have the balls to say; "Eddie it's not fair that you should be making this decision".

Kim Williams is a great appointment due to his extensive broadcasting experience.

My idea for the Swans community to become friends with Eddie was denounced by the Red and White Community so I'm proposing a new concept.

Get Eddie to succeed Mike Fitzpatrick at Chairman of the AFL Commission. The deal would involve Eddie resigning from Collingwood and ceasing all AFL media commitments.

This will make Eddie accountable to all 18 clubs and he would be very careful not to be biased towards Collingwood.

He would realise that Soccer and Rugby League are his new enemies and would ensure that the Northern Clubs are strong to lead the fight. The academy's would be expanded with more resources and more money would be put into AusKick.

This idea would stop Eddie being a biased power broker always using the media and working behind the scenes.

This could work to bring more accountability to Eddie and give him new enemies (NRL) to focus on.

              1) He is bad enough as a Club President, could you imagine him as the Chair of the Commission - it would make his behaviour now seem ok!
              2) Is your kid going to give you a smack for not calling it "NAB Auskick"?
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."

I was speaking to an intelligent Collingwood supporter and he said that he loves Eddies passion for the club, but is most happy that Garry Pert runs the club. I think the general consensus is that Eddie has been a good club president for Collingwood.

Nothing wrong with acknowledging the sponsors name. I'm hoping that my young boy will spend his school holidays while in high school doing some work experience at the big four banks. Better than roaming the streets and hanging out at Westfield with naughty school girls who are trying to con you out of your lunch money.

If I had to choose between naughty school girls or sweeping the floors of our beloved Auskick sponsor, I know which one I'd pick.

It all starts with learning the value of hard work during work experience. It's a great way to spend the School holidays.

Hanging around teenage girls at shopping centres is best case a waste of time, worst case a teen pregnancy.

                                Getting a bit off topic?
