And scarily their ferociousness almost ran for 4 qtrs. Against us it was half a game. Ross may have learnt from last year. They are looking primed.
So... for the Swans to finish top 2....

Who do we want to play Cats or Dockers? Watching the Dockers strangle hawks scared me looked like last years game against the Swans . Cats are a another tough unit. Things looked so much easier 3 or 4 weeks ago . I don't think we can beat the Dockers if they play like that. My vote CATS!Comment

We can beat anyone, anywhere, if we bring our best. Freo were rampant yesterday, and I wouldn't want to face them at Subiaco. But we can beat them if we play well enough."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

The issue with the way the Dockers played is that it is hard to sustain it over a long period of time. The Swans can also apply manic pressure but rarely for 4 quarters and certainly not every single week. The Dockers played like that for half a game in the PF last year and then loosened up a bit. They weren't able to bring the same intensity the following week in the GF. Yesterday was a huge game for them and they rose to the challenge, but they also benefited from the Hawks being wasteful in front of goal early on, and from Roughhead missing.Comment

Hawks and Freo have a miserable record against other top teams this year.
Wins-losses vs other top six teams (vs top four):
Swans 5-2 (3-1)
Hawthorn 2-5 (2-2)
Freo 2-5 (2-3)
Geelong 4-3 (2-2)The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

I've said it before but - unless ROK announces his retirement (and there are no signs to date that he intends to do that) then there can be no "farewell game".Comment
