        No self respecting Swans supporter would be caught dead drinking something so gauche.
        I am also not sure if Bar Coluzzi obtain their beans from ecologically environmentally and ethically verified sources?

        Seriously though what any Swans supporter should expect is a venue that is accessible, affordable, has an ability to generate some atmosphere and provides teams with a surface that allows skill not luck to be the determining factor.
        I can't say for sure that Homebush ticks all of those boxes.
        Sorry. I should have said Pendolds for the wine tasting. I hear 1959 was a great year.

        I think the Pete Evans degustation on the Ferry to Homebush is a great idea.

        Maybe some Clover Moore inspired street art on the Walk from Homebush Station to ANZ would really inspire the inner city Swans supporters to make the trek to ANZ.

          Unfortunately rain is forecast for several days in the coming week, including for next Saturday. Bad news for the ANZ surface.

            2 weeks of solid rain, and some here are complaining about sliperyness?

            SCG would have been a bog hole.

            Teddy richards slipped over in a place not where the stands extend. Get some long studs ted.

            Anyway, seeing etihad dry as a bone just shows how valuable a roof woukd be.

            Now the crowd. The ANZ members area had a god 10,000 in, which means only 20,000 swans members came. Are these 40,000 members we are supposed to have pets like hawthorn has?

              Wrong Barry, you clearly know nothing about the SCG or you're just stirring the pot. The SCG has magnificent drainage.

              Why you would even try to compare the surfaces of the 2 grounds is beyond me.

                It's amazing how much longer the trip up from Canberra seems when the game is at Homebush.

                  Ffs barry, stop trolling - it has gone beyond tiresome. There are plenty of good reasons why the crowd was low yesterday.

                    Maybe the venue had something to do with it?

                      If thats the case, ie we have 20,000 fair weather members (or pets), then out 40,000 membership is a mirage.

                        It's Penfolds ... & I presume you're trying to be "clever", so you have to specify Grange (or if you are talking the 1959 drop it's Grange Hermitage), as the Penfolds estate makes many different blends of wine, many are cheaper.

                          All in all it was a great game at ANZ despite the weather. The atmosphere was electric in that last quarter.

                          Cant wait for a roof.

                              Typo. I'm sure the inner-city Swans members would stampede over each other to taste some Penfolds Grange Hermitage at ANZ.

                              Some other ideas:

                              - In ANZ, replace Coke Cola and Sprite and bring in Organic Coke and Homemade Organic Lemonade.

                              - In ANZ, overhaul the hot food and bring in Hugos Pizza's and MISSCHU dumplings and rice paper rolls.

                              - Get rid of the Nesle Ice Creams and have "Sparkle" Cup Cakes from Surry Hills.

                              These are examples of things that can be done to make the Swans Inner City members feel more at home.

                              This post in meant to be funny. I'm the first to admit that I've enjoyed the above treats.

                                Well start with this thought Barry.

                                Approx 10,000 of our fans are from Melbourne - I'd hardly expect many of them would come up for a dead rubber. There probably is another 500 or 1000 based in other cities around the country too.
                                Then out of the other '10,000' missing, you have:
                                - plenty of NSW based members that live outside of Sydney itself, and probably didn't make the trip because they would prefer to come up for finals (myself and 3 other people I know from Canberra fall into this category);
                                - plenty that just didn't go because it was a dead rubber, and might not have been able to afford to go both this week and the finals;
                                - some that dislike ANZ and don't go to games at that ground during regular season/ hold SCG only memberships (these still exist don't they - I can't remember?)
                                - Those who didn't go for miscellanious reasons (i.e. sick/away/have other things to do etc).

                                Don't go tarring people as 'fair weather' fans when you have no reason to do so. We all love the swans, but they after all are only one part of people's lives,and there are plenty of people with very valid excuses not to have been there on Saturday.
