Not everyone is loaded like yourself and able to afford your fancy pants wanky ANZ membership. Get down off your high horse!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I only went to one game at Victoria park and the swans won after a goal was kicked from a free kick. The magpie natives were very restless after the siren and I remember there were police on horses outside the ground. I was primary school age so it was a little scary!Comment

Barry, the supporters were the ones that made them not my favourite places. A number of grounds weren't that big. Carlton though was all round crap for visiting supporters.Comment

I sit on both sides of the argument here.
*SCG is our true home ground, always has and always will be. I cannot wait for the finals to back there in 2017!
* ANZ Stadium is good for 1 max 2 home games a year against big drawing Victorian clubs. Why neglect the 1000s of Swans fans out west who do find it easier to get to?
* I would follow and support the team if they played on the mud near Warragamba Dam.
* There is nothing we or the club can currently do about the contract arrangement presently in place so GET OUT to ANZ Stadium, put your whinging away for the next month, support our team and let's hope we see 3 wins there on the way to the MCG!!
GO SWANS!
I love going to the SCG and personally think it's a much better place to watch AFL, but I understand why we play at ANZ Stadium and I'm happy to attend games at both venues.Comment

I deleted as I didn't want to add fuel to the fire, but I don't think these are massive cons, (1) is debatable as I know the traffic is awful around that area but it is very well served by buses (even if they slow to a crawl on Friday nights). I'll grant you (2) but this is partially offset by Colless joining the board of the SCG Trust.Comment

That is true.
Besides the surface.
As a Melbournite, I find getting to and from the stadium from the airport a breeze by train, even though it takes 3 trains to get there.
There is Hotel accommodation within spitting distance, and I found the bars nearby quite handy, if not a tad crowded.
I had no issues when I came up for the '12 PF v Pies.Comment

Didn't we get sent a questionnaire a few months ago about the SCG v ANZ from Swannies membership? "Which do you see as the spiritual home of Sydney/ which do you prefer?" or something along those lines. The last I heard from the club (earlier in the year at the round 13 v Port game - at a time when the "Portress" was getting a lot of attention) was that the Swans wanted to create a similar atmosphere at the SCG.
At least one of our banners that I can recall had a little tag line "Fortress SCG" in the corner. It has been bandied about that after the ANZ deal expires, the Swans would be very keen to play All home finals at our Northern G!!
I live about half an hour's drive closer to Homebush, but I much prefer to spend the extra 20-30 minutes to get over the bridge than go to ANZ. The only really memorable moment I have from Homebush is waving bye-bye to Collingwood fans leaving 10 minutes early at the end of the 2012 PelimComment

I guess the big question is "Are the Swans a club of the people". I believe the Swans are a club for the middle classes. The Swans are a inner-city, Latte drinking, Chardonnay Swilling, Ben Sherman wearing Football Club. That is to be celebrated.
You can see that Homebush is a struggle for Swans Target Market because it's harder to access a good Latte or taste test some Chardonnays.
Barry is fighting for the common man and we need to remain at Homebush to keep in touch with the common man.Comment
