On the bright side, less chance of injury in the wet. Everthing sliws down.
I actually think the opposite. Bodies are colder - more chance of pulling hamstrings etc, Slippery ground not good for ankles and knees. I never can pick how the Swans will go in the wet, sometimes good, other times woeful...

Glad I booked undercover seats though.

Statistics show wet ground has far less injuries. And its not goung to be cold today.

I'm so confident of a big Swans win that I'm heading out to bowls this arvo. I'll watch the Swans win by 45 on the dvd recorder when I get home.

              GO SWANS!

P.S. Its a beautiful sunny day down here on Phillip Island and the local ground looks a treat.

I wish I could send up Melbourne's weather. Would have loved to see our forwards stretch their depleted back line.

We can't allow them the loose man to just mop up or take intercepting marks. We have to lock it in our forward 50. Pressure and tackling will be the key.

It's starting to clear up a little near the CBD. I even see a little patch of blue sky.

what stats would they be barry? Would genuinally like to see some evidence on that assertion, as I think your just guessing that to be the case.

When I went to the bledisloe a few weeks ago ( the start of sydneys rainmagedon) I got drenched getting there and was soaked and git dripped on the whole game. Made me appreciate the dry days.

Gave the rest of the league a head start and we still won the minor premiership! Despite that achievement, as a team I think our form is suspect. The last top four scalp we claimed was Geelong who aren't the threat they once were and our loss to Richmond, too easily dismissed by mitigating circumstances.

Be that as it may, we've proved before we can flick the switch to finals football in the major rounds... but so can Fremantle. Will be an interesting match for sure. Swans by 2 goals or more.

Just got an email from a colleague (who's coming to the game with me) who lives not too far from Homebush to advise that it's been pissing down out that way all morning (as it has here in the East) but that the skies are now starting to clear.

Port would be a top 4 team had we not beaten them. So the argument becomes a little circular. I am very confident we would have beaten Richmond had we needed to beat them. We wouldn't have "rested" Buddy and JPK, for starters. And given that our only loss since between the opening month of the season and last weekend was against the reigning premiers (and equal premiership favourite) on their home turf, in a game that we were still ultra-competitive in, I don't think you can be overly negative about our formline.

Good to hear it is clearing a bit - a drier track most certainly suits us I would of thought.
