Surface looks good, pretty firm. Looks like lower bowel and mid level will fill. 46k?

Not upset about Bird as sub. It's likely to be a hard contested game with many tired midfielders late in the game. He can come in and give our inside mids a break. He is also a very versatile player, so makes a good sub in case of injury.

So nervous today. Freo have become an awful team to play against with the likes of Ballantyne and Crowley, it would be very unpleasant to lose to them. The key today I think is fast transitions, give our forwards a good chance of getting a run at it. Freo will flood back if we're too slow, Lyon is one of the best defensive coaches in the business.

Telecast has started and I can see the sun is out ????.

According to Basil only one area of the ground looks soft.

Not sure about Bird being sub. But Longmire knows what he is doing...(doesn't he??)

            Am getting excited now!!

Ground looks good bar the wing looks a bit soft but a lot better than last week. Hoping the sun stays out.

Weather's patchy, the surface is patchy, crowd's patchy - I don't expect that to be an omen for our kicking or final's form.

How many steps did Rohan take? That wasn't 15. Bad clanger from the umps there, terrible.

                            That was an umpiring shocker
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Damn, pity we didn't convert one of those early ones.

Would like to see it again, but I'm pretty confident he didn't take 15, more like 11 or 12. Bloody terrible decision for a finals game.
