Never in doubt tight tough game a great tune up a week to rest and then back to the sandpit.
We might break 40000 for the crowd for that game maybe Barry ?

        Yay what a win ????.

That quarter seemed to go on forever!!

What about those 2 goals by Buddy??

Really sad for Mal. Glad we still had run out of the back line.

Am going to enjoy watching them sing the song ????.

I never read through game threads after a game.
I wish I hadn't. You guys have little faith!!

Rohan had a game to forget, but he made up for it in the last 5 mins.
Tackling and smothering made it hard for the dockers.

Pyke was outstanding. Did everything today.

            Loved Jettas game.

ahhhh Scott, I thought we were rather restrained today...just the usual shrieking and despair that makes the joy of winning so much sweeter..

93points on the Dockers and in the wet slippery conditions is quite incredible score !!!

                    Few points:

                    1. We barely had an effective centre clearance in the second half.

                    2. Never give JPK a week off again. He had two clangers that cost us goals.

                    3. Our forwards (namely Goodes) need to occasionally take responsibility and put the ball on the boot. Hand balling and faffing about in our forward fifty cost us at least three possible goals.

Did get a few nice umpiring decisions our way which is a nice change, especially against filthy old freo

Gutsy win in a hard contest against a very good team with better skills than ours. They were without a couple of top defenders, but the loss of Mal went some way towards evening things up.

In the end we won because of persistent hard work and the occasional flash of brilliance - Buddy, take a bow - and as is nearly always the case at this level, the mids' contribution was crucial. They had the odd clanger but came back all the more determined and it paid off. Kennedy, Parker, Captain Jack, Hannebery, Jetts, Birdy all shone at times.

I thought the defence was a bit looser than you'd expect, but in the end they got the job done; Ted was good, Reg had a good game and the effort and pace from Rampe, Harry, Nick and Shaw was outstanding. Rohan got better as the game went along and I think that ping for travel wasn't really there, but he bounced back too. McVeigh's coolness was vital, and while I'm sure the top votes in the Rising Star were earned, I wouldn't swap Jake for any of them. Mike Pyke had a very good game.

Favourite moments: 1. Pykey on the end of a slingshot with a near goal. 2. Kenny walking off with the boys and his arm around Gaz. 3. Buddy - say no more.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Nick Smith's game on Ballantyne was sensational. Poor guy always gets overlooked.

A pretty satisfying win. A four-goal win over Dockers is a six or seven-goal drubbing of most other teams. We actually won every quarter, which is rare against a top side. I especially liked how we held firm in the last quarter. Freo looked set to take it to the wire but we dominated the last ten minutes.

Jude Bolton commetned in the last quarter on how players were lowering their eyes and finding targets. If Buddy is being double teamed, or there's a loose man, surely we'd start lowering our eyes in the first quarter.

Apart from the brilliance of Parker and Buddy, I thought Pyke's ground game was the best he's played all year if not his best ever. Forced a lot of turnovers - 10 contested possessions is not too shabby.
NickSmith collected 25 disposals at 96% efficiency and totally shut down Balla.
Found myself barracking for Rohan whenever he went near the ball. His defensive game was fine, just started off in the horrors.
Great decision to play Reid in the back half in the last quarter. He looks a better defender than forward.

When Basil Z went off about the Shaw shank redemption I thought he was talking about Rhyce Shaw redeeming his 2003 shank in 2012.
