Bought tickets online today in category four but got seated in section 320 which I believe on the map shows as those category one tickets at the northern end so they must have released more sections to category four.
Crowd prediction - preliminary - swans v north.

This of course everything that is wrong - assuming it is wrong - with what has happened here. And if it is true then the AFL should be apologising publicly to everyone who purchased tickets on day one and trying to develop some sort of arrangement to reflect what has happened.Comment

Just went onto ticketek site and there are still Cat 5 tickets available. I put in for 5 tickets and it came up with Sect 119-1 Row 9 Seat 2-6. Yesterday during the member sale period you couldnt get anything in Cat 5. Ticketek doing the swifty again, no wonder crowds are low as people see the cheapest option isnt available so they dont bother.Comment

Lady at the AFL asked what I wanted the AFL to do about it with tone and I said I want compensation. Yeah as if that will happen right. I feel stupid and taken advantage of as a 20 year member who was desperate to see my team play only to be ripped off at a time when I'm hoping to be in Melbourne next week for the Grand Final (more money again). Never again will I bother with the member pre sale. What's the point when you end up being taken advantage of? I seriously think the AFL's arrogance with ticketing and prices destroys any chance of crowds of 60k+ in Sydney. So disappointing and us fans will be the ones blamed for another disappointing finals crowd.Comment

Just rang the Swans and was referred to the AFL ticketing dept to express my anger at being told by Ticketek that Cat 4 and 5 were sold out during members pre sale, only to see later in the day Cat 1 tickets offered at Cat 5 prices.

Barry will no doubt chime in, but I think thats a big disadvantage of ANZ. If it was at the SCG I would already have bought tickets. I'm sure many casual fans would be holding out to see what the weather is doing (at least that was the excuse v Freo).
Basic supply and demand. Anz will never sell out, no risk of not getting a ticket. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Scott, do you have a media contact by chance? I'd send an email to Fairfax entitled 'emerging Preliminary Final ticket scandal', with a link to this thread and a short explanation of the situation and points of inequity.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

The phases of RWO commenting on finals crowds.
1. Disbelief. Why arent the playing at the SCG.
2. Resignation.
3. Anger. Ticket sales hard or slow.
4. Blame. Im never going to ANZ again. Took me 15 hours from concord.
I think we are in stage 3. Some are seriously thinking of jumping to 4 early.Comment
