Good to see....It's not all about trades!

      Swans re-sign key defender with X-factor - AFL.com.au

Wow. I was not expecting that.

      We also need to upgrade:
      - Lloyd
      - Biggs
      - Naismith

That means we may have four rookie upgrades as well as a requirement to take two players in the NAB draft.

We need to change over up to six senior players.

Walsh, Shaw, Lockyear, Marsh and Dick are facing nervous times.

Is there any available player Matt80 that you don't think is better than what we already have and shouldn't be trading the whole team away for? at this rate, we will have a completely new 22 almost next season with all the players you want us to get!

Shaw??? The man who has been picked over Tom Mitchell to win us the 2014 Finals series. I suspect he, and Goodes, won't discover their future when they pick up the newspaper one day but rather will decide it in discussion.

They might delist Naismith if we're picking up Leuenberger or Ryder...interesting

X re-signing may also mean that Walsh is headed home after all...bit of a shame considering the form he's shown in the reserves of late.

May also mean that they don't have plans to move Reid to CHB back after all which means he may be on the way out?

May also mean absolutely none of the above!! Apologies for the length of the bow I am drawing haha

I've gone hard on Ryder and presented a solution on how you would fit him under the salary cap.

Ryder is better than any ruckman on our list. If all he costs is salary cap, then why not.

I raised a question on Heriter, but I?m not 100% convinced. I think he could bring the Swans more members from the Gay community due to his strong stance at Collingwood and his commitment to social justice issues.

It?s a no for Merritt, Lewnberger, Jarrod Waite, Clint Jones, James Gwilt and Mitch Robinson

He is 32 and we have others coming through to fill his spot (Biggs and Jones). He can still play good Football in 2014, but he could have an ROK year in 2015.

Football can be brutal and I rated Biggs, Lloyd and Naismith as more advanced rookies than Richards. They are all going to require senior spots as well as Richards.

As nice it is for the club to have Walsh as a backup, from his point of view it doesn't sound as optimistic. He will turn 27 at the beginning of next year, will be in the prime of his sporting life, perhaps playing out another season in the NEAFL with the hopes of getting a spot due to injury isn't what he would like to be doing. He could go back to Kerry and win a few All-Ireland championships instead.

No pressing need to promote Naismith to the senior list.

This is a very simplistic view and somewhat condescending. There are plenty of us in the fold already without the need to bring in someone to pander to our perceived need for social justice. Thanks.

Heriter Lumumba is an ordinary footballer, who often turns the ball over. That is the main reason why I wouldn't trade for him.

Also, he is a trouble maker and a complete knob.

I've seen him win too many games against the Swans to agree with your first sentence. The second may be true if the media has reported correctly - but that's the same Buddy-reporting media.
