So are the Essendon firsts allowed to play or not?
Send us the ressies!!Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Looks like we're playing Watson, Stanton, Zaharakis and Fletcher instead of Marcus Marigliani, Clint Jones, Sam Michael and Josh FreezerComment

Interesting. I always think that Lloyd is fairly soft and virtually disappears in hard games (twice last year v the Hawks). I'd definitely rate Lloyd as less aggressive than Cunningham, but obviously neither are in the league of say Benny McG. Jarred Moore is testament to the fact that you need pace, not just aggression. We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!Comment

Well they got off. The only reason appears to be because Essendon failed to keep records of what their players were being injected with. Therefore, there was insufficient evidence. This means that all clubs can now cheat as long as they don't keep any records.Comment

For me....
1) Jack out, I don't want to see a repeat of last year, where he plays(for him timidly) with injured ribs week after week. Get him right, then unleash him.
2) Goodes to be sub,he's best suited as a cameo man these days.
3) Let Heeney settle in with a full game. I hate it when debutantes have to wait on the bench, then try to prove themselves in 1 quarter....rarely gets results.
So:
B: Smith - Richards - Rampe
HB: Jetta - Grundy - Shaw
C: Lloyd - Mitchell - Hannebery
HF: Rohan- Franklin - Cunningham
FF: Heeney - Tippett - Bird
Fol: Pkye - Kennedy - Parker
INT: Reid - McVeigh - Towers
SUB: Goodes
Though I would rather see Heeney in a HF role with Towers playing deeper in the forward line. I.e where Goodes would normally play of late.Comment

The NRL GF re-match on Friday is played at the SCG not the ANZ Stadium. So the surface should be OK.Comment

This is actually a good thing for the Swans.
A second tier team would have been pummeled by some of the opposition.
We now face a team who is not match fit, but they will be well back on track by round 4 vs Collingwood.
We have a great chance to give them a smacking, as does Hawthorn and to a lesser degree Carlton. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Given this will be the first game of the year for most of the Bombers lineup....
The blueprint for winning this game should be pretty simple....
Full on pressure, especially in the early stages, hit them hard, hit them often, be relentless....
They should be rusty, and the turnovers should flow....Unless of course they've been taking something to counter that.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Andrew Pridham tweeted a few hours ago the SCG had just put up the AFL goalposts.
Well done @ScottFitzG on spotting the annual goal post installation @scg. All ready for @sydneyswans 2015 @AFL Season pic.twitter.com/FVrAUhw9ox

All we need to do is play it out hard in the last quarter and there should be no problems.
The lack of fitness for the Bombers will catch up with them. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Not good for the state of the ground come Saturday though - gee wouldn't it be good if sometime in the near future we didn't have to play there anymore???????Comment

You're right. I thought it was at the SCG, because I saw a TV add for NRL games and it looked like they were playing at the SCG not at ANZ stadium. Well, in this case the ground will be @@@@.Comment
