& if he does get a game, a 99.7% chance he'll gather 25+ disposals & still be dropped next week ... & if that happens, a 210% chance that there are multiple posts that there is no room for all the slow inside mid extractors & that Tommy is too low on the depth-something-or-other & either wants out for better opportunities or should be shoved out for more picks to get Mills & Slam Dunks Jr.

Firstly my condolences. What a place to be on a public holiday
Maybe post where you plan to go as others might join you.
So long as the Swans aren't playing the Crows or Port, most places are Swans friendly.
There's one on Henley Beach Rd - I think it's the Hotel Royal, just opposite the Torrensville shopping centre - if you're west of the city?Comment

Of course, one thing to be said about the weather conditions: if the game develops into a grinding, muddy slog, then we should be advantaged by the fact that most of the Bombers haven't played NAB cup, and therefore should be lacking a bit of match condition. So hopefully, the longer the game goes on, the more they'll tire.Comment

I may say it but John Longmire is doing it. There has not been four slower inside midfield extractors played in the Swans senior team since round four last year against North Melbourne. On that day Kennedy, Parker, Mitchell and ROK were played. Since that point there has been a maximum of three slower inside midfield extractors played.
I hope they play Mitchell today because the conditions warrant another extractor who can deliver ten tackles and scrap in the wet.
The maximum of three slower inside midfielders is the Swans mainstream policy.
I did not create this system, I defined it, articulated it, and argued that it was happening.
I simply participated in the battle of ideas, which is the foundation stone of the Red and White community.Comment

So is this the game thread or the pre-game thread
So far as I can tell on waking up today, it has rained continually through the night and looks set to continue all day. Ground conditions could be really horrible. Still looking forward to that first siren of the year though!Comment

And by my observation Parker is not slow unless Macca is too."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Beerman 18-07-2017Comment

Bloody awful day and it's supposed to get wetter again this afternoon before starting to clear probably at around the time the final siren goes. Add to that the extra moisture on the field from all the bottles thrown by the Bulldogs fans last night and it's gonna be pretty soggy out there.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Mate it's footy season and you're in Adelaide. The game will be on everywhere. You should have no trouble finding somewhere that's screening it. The Casino Sports Bar for one, but plenty of pubs etc will have it on too.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

The wife and I were all ready to take the little one (11 months old) to his first game- certain things are expected of these new members.
Sadly we don't have junior scuba gear, so we'll be on the couch.
I was looking forward to this for the last few weeks, too!Comment
