When is this disgraceful ban going to be lifted? We're cactus if we can't trade again this year.

Caro said again on Footy Classified again for the second week in a row within the next couple of days our ban will be lifted, they are certainly dragging this out and right thru our finals campaign as well????

Sinclair is a Melbourne boy too.....might like being closer to home.

I told you that the VFL are going to wait too see where Sydney finish. Remember that they manipulate outcomes. Straight sets out. Ban totally lifted and incremental changes after every win.

I see what you mean, win the flag, trade ban stays, out in straight sets finish 5th or 6th, trade ban lifted just in case we tumble down the ladder and that will hurt the game in NSW.

I'll take the flag and ban stays :-)

I agree on a couple of accounts. Certainly either Lycett or Sinclair would be better value than Leuenberger or Kreuzer, and also that our list managers might well be happy to do that kind of trade.

I think both Lycett and Sinclair are contracted, and Lycett just signed a new contract, perhaps for 3 years, so they would have to agree to a trade. Lycett would make a good 1st ruckman and Sinclair is not bad as a 2nd as he's a good mark around the ground. Lycett looks particularly interesting in that he's still should have some good development left in him and will lack opportunities at WC to reach his potential. My concern with Lycett is that he is a bit of a lumberer around the ground.

And now here are the reasons why I don't think it's a good idea:

Assuming Buddy gets back to his usual self, I think our team would work much better with Tippett as 1st ruck and Reid as a the relief ruckman. Tippett is better than either Lycett or Sinclair. Both of the Eagle ruckmen are good, but not dominant ruckmen, meaning that they are not in the category of a Sandilands, Goldstein or Natanui. My feeling is that Naismith and Nanka will develop at least to the same level of these Westcoasters, and bringing one of these in would effectively block their development paths with the Swans.

If there's no stopping Jetta from leaving, I would go after next year's 1st rounder plus a 3rd round pick this year (probably around 50), just to pick up a few more value points. I don't think we should look for players as we have good group of youngsters waiting for more opportunities to show what they've got. The exact compensation we should look should for relates to what we need to cover the value points for Mills and Dunkley (should he decide to nominate). I would only take the minimum 2 in this draft.

I would look to build a bit of draft pick trading power for next year, when our needs should become clearer. It should be the last year of Tippo's contract, who knows where we will stand with Buddy, and the development of a fair number of younger players should become clearer. We may even get lucky with Alex Johnson. BYW, I wish the club would give an update as to where he's at; I though he was scheduled for surgery in August, but haven't heard a thing.

If Jetta goes, I would also rethink my negative first impressions about signing Adcock as a FA, if Jed were willing to accept the likelihood of being a depth player.

Matthew Stokes has plenty of decent footy left in him too. Amazed that the Cats have delisted him.

The talk of getting another ruckman defies logic.

                  We already have five ruckman:

                  - Tippett
                  - Pyke
                  - Naismith
                  - Tom D
                  - Toby N

Another ruckman will make our list top heavy.

All the above ruckman with exception of Toby N are contracted for next season.

The Swans will have no suitors if they tried to trade Tom D.

To include a new ruckman the Swans may have to delist Toby N.

Are we forgetting Pyke's age. Toby showed enough in his games to say he will be a very good player when he builds the tank. Has good skills, huge frame and good palming skills. May very well be the .2016 surprise packet.

Toby n may even be a sneaky chance of playing next week if they decide they want another talk to replace Reid

Pyke and Tom D will more than likely have their final year of the Swans list in 2016.

Would it not be more sensible to go for a new ruckman at the end of 2016 where we will have some availability at the ruck position?

So Richmond now have pick 12 which will be too high for Josh Dunkley who has slipped into the late teens/20s in all the latest rankings I read.

From Dunks viewpoint, would he really want to go to Richmond where once again their leaders completely failed to stand up in a final?

Bennell is the one we must chase. We need some x factor in our midfield. Someone who can produce a little magic. I feel he will be chased hard by other clubs so we should be prepared to give up a bit to get him. I assume we will get a 1st round for Jetta. Not sure that will be enough for Gold Coast so I would package up a player. GC need forwards, so I would package up Reid. It is a lot, but i really rate Bennell and that sort of player doesn't come around very often.

Agree about bennell. But not sure well have many picks left to trade after mills.

Afl website says 'Out of contract Lewis Jetta is still grappling with whether to re-sign with the Swans or go back home to W.A. If he goes back to W.A the Eagles look in the box seat' or words to that effect.

Re-sign please Lewis. Also says we have spoken to Leuenberger.
