Anything that concentrates that blazer brigade at Moore Park's power is a concern.

Three well funded venues (SCG Trust, ANZ Stadium and Parramatta Park Trust) that give sporting teams genuine choices is the ideal.

The biggest no brainer of the lot is a new 40,000 seater at Parramatta. With the WSW, Eels and West Tigers as anchor tenants plus Penrith playing 4-6 games a year they'll get close to 60-70 top tier games there a season. ANZ will have the big games plus Doggies, Bunnies and T20 who both seem pretty happy there.

Allianz will get the Roosters, Tahs, Dragons and Sydney FC.

For mine it's a fair distribution and some competition between the bodies is ideal. The SCG is a powerful body though so don't be surprised if they come out on top

I'm a bit loathe to bump this thread, but what are the best general admission tickets (economy & view) to get at ANZ? How does one go about getting them? I've never been & I'm from Adelaide. Best way to get to ANZ from the CBD & how long does it take?
      Thanks in advance

Train from CBD. 1/2 an hour.

Tickets. Avoid level 6 unless you like paper planes

We'll talk offline, but I have one ticket for you.
Get a GA ticket and we'll sneak A in to sit with us (they never check).
I sit to the left of the interchange within hearing distance of the players (looking from the commentary view).

The ANZ Stadium surface looked awful last night for the Eels v Tigers game. I don't hold out much hope for it being in decent nick for the Hawks game.

So incredibly thankful we'll never have to trek out there for another game after this year

The deal to play all home games at SCG starts from 2017. So you can expect to be still going to matches at ANZ next year.

To make matters worse, there is an NRL game on the night before. The ground has never been great, but with a week to get it ready it normally is acceptable. When they have no time for the grass to settle after rolling back the stands from the rectangular format it borders on dangerous.

It's outrageous in my opinion that the AFL allows games to be scheduled AFTER an NRL game earlier in the weekend. Either play Friday night or make sure no NRL game scheduled Friday if it's a Sat game.

And as much as we like to blame ANZ and/or Barry, that's really an AFL stuff up, not ANZ...

Credit where credit is due, earlier in the season when we played the night after an NRL game, the field was in decent nick all things considered. But given we are well into the respective seasons now, and ANZ has had a lot of games, it may not be the case this time around.

I can't imagine ANZ will be pulling out all stops for the Swans/Hawks game...Why would they.

It will be business as usual...

Uneven field dug up surface from the league game, grass too long for AFL, and a hard slippery surface with tracks mud where the stands have been sitting and consequently rolled away.

The only saving grace is the viewing seats are so far from the playing surface, you won't see much detail of the game, just a broad hazy brush.

The dew is horrendous for night games at this time of year too.

Let's hope that the coaching staff INSIST that the players wear long stops!! I get really annoyed by the players slipping over because of the short stops with their footwear.

Slim chance that Saturday could be the last ever game there for us:
Sydney Swans could make early exit from ANZ Stadium

The AFL obviously doesn't check the stadium for safety before each game otherwise they would have seen the exposed bolts that Roughead slid over last night. Slack. Hope we never play there again.
