Last weekend's 28k would have sounded much louder at SCG. Didn't they get 35k at SCG v Geelong last year?

Geelong are a team on decline. Silly to compare one off games. Compare average cats games at scg vs anz
Geelong have played there 5 times averaging 36,000.
Geelong have played SCG 29 time for an average of 20,000.
16k prefer ANZ?
Thats what you call a good old fashion fact-whoopin.Comment

On the bright side the surface wasn't too bad, despite the NRL game there the night before.
What next? Reasonably priced food and drink? I reckon I could get Giants' family membership for my whole clan for what I paid for a soft drink and a small tub of chips.
Good thing we won - I always feel a bit unclean returning from ANZ on the bus after a loss.Comment

That 3 match pass was the thing that got me started going to live Swans games (always have watched them on TV) way back in 2003 and have been a member ever since.Comment

Being from Vic I'm completely impartial to the grounds in regards to locations and parking and travel etc. but I purely prefer us at the SCG because we seem to play much better football there. I know our record is good at both, let's face it it's been pretty good everywhere lately, but I'd be confident in saying that opposition teams would much prefer playing us at ANZ as opposed to the SCG.Twitter @cmdil

Then you look at our win/loss ratio. Its much better than the SCG, and up there with the advantages Subiaco gives WC and Freo.
Anyway, looks like the local residents have veto'ed any upgrade of Allianz stadium due to local congestion (snigger!) and lack of transport.
Makes sense anyway, a rectangular field is wasted in the east.
Should clear some funds for the ANZ roof and the improvement of the end stands.Comment

[QUOTE=barry;671033]I would think the opposite. There are 4 AFL teams that have never played there. Imagine how upset they'd be if the first time they got to play at a ground was a cut throat final.

You forgot to add converting ground from oval to rectangular shape. League, Union & Soccer and majority of Swans supporters will all be winners!Comment

We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

And I suspect more finals at ANZ than SCG as well, further inflating the differences.Comment

However the changing of the ends is a stretch goal, and unlikely. Roof is priority.Comment
