My recollection too. Bad handpass then a premature adjudication.

Reg had a good game last night. Bringing in Davis for Grundy? Opposition forwards would love that. Davis would just get pushed around and probably get desperate and give away frees. Reg is a good defender who lacks a bit of polish on his disposals.

Isn't there a pill for that? Are pFizer (sp?)still the ball sponsor?

Sadly, there's no cure for premature adjudication.

Well , that was a good win , but need to start a bit better against the very top teams - starting next week.

Not to put a damper , but rather a sense of perspective , on the performance - that was not the Geelong of old.
The Moggies were missing Hawkins and they have several inexperienced players : the likes of Bews , Kersten , Lang , Thurlow and Gregson (who looked pretty good) are not yet battle-hardened. And it was a big help to us that Duncan did not play the whole game.

We know which players got all the plaudits - deservedly so - but a special mention for Jeremy Laidler : he had a composed , tidy , no-fuss game.

I said to those around me in the first half that if Nicholls started umpiring the game fairly we'd clear away, and that's what happened. It was a good win with some pretty decent performances across the ground, and one absolute superstar performance. I was particularly pleased to see Jetta have another good game after his effort last week. He does appear to have lifted. I agree that Laidler is doing well also.

Will post more in depth comments after watching the replay but I thought Hannebery was outstanding again. It seemed like he was given the freedom to play a bit more on the outside and utilise his run and he seemed to be everywhere, the amount of ground he is able to cover is unbelievable!

It also feels like Jack is warming into the season nicely, his second half was very impressive.

Have just watched the replay for the third time.

Would like to say that I think Pyke is playing well. Yes he made some mistakes, but he outclassed Geelong's rucks and his around the ground play is becoming more instinctive. I no longer think it is a miracle when he makes an effective handball. There was one instance when he had very quick hands and his marking has always been more than adequate. His tackling is really setting the tone for the whole team.

I'm glad he is a Swan

Best game by Pyke for the last 2 years in my opinion. Finally started taking some marks around the ground.

Still no where near his 2012 form, but promising up curve.

Where on earth do you get these images?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

As cliche as it is he did play a game of 2 halves. His first half was error ridden and subpar but in the second half he was firing and back to his best

I felt the resurgence of Pyke in the 2nd half was the difference - we suddenly cleared the ball quickly out of the middle and began to run it quickly to the fwds - he has his detractors but he is a key part of the team

Win position for ball? How? So if he had struck him in the head instead would that have been okay too because he was going for the ball?
