No it won't be. Swans by 60 with the cue in the rack early.
Ahem. Just wanted to refer y'all back to Page 1 of this thread. Give me a brief moment of kudos! :-)

Mark Robinsons article in the herald sun is very good too. He's supporting Goodsie all the way.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I hope Cyril & Burgoyne do a jig too!! I'm hoping most indigenous boys do it. Then we will see the selective reaction!

Good to see Robinson get a full game rather than the horrid green vest. Showed he is up to seniors standard, albeit against a weak team but none the less looked at home on the big stage.

We really need to keep exposing fringe players in case of injuries and to test them at senior level. Hoping Robbo stays in for next weeks game too.

So do I, thought he did pretty well for a first game, in particular in the first half. Didn't look out of place, and hopefully he gets a game next week as well, plus hopefully we will have the luxury to give him some more exposure later in the season as well.

Did anyone see on the big screen at the game that Heeney had 13 possessions?

If nothing else it was worth it to see Eddie, Bruce and Hamish, but mostly Eddie in a state of shock at your temerity and searching desperately for some way to beat up a negative angle and slam you for it but doing it in a way that did not seem to be racist. The resulting charge, 'Adam Goodes has just committed the footballing crime of the century'. What was the crime? His dance intimidated Carlton supporters. It boggles the mind as to what the reaction would have been if he had had a 'Micky O' moment. This now seems to be the media justification for making a mountain out of a molehill. They search the camera angles to see if he went to the boundary line, and to find a shot which only has Carlton supporters in the background! I think Dan Hannebery's comment sums it up ...

i agree. It was Indigenous Round. I would like all the Indigenous boys to embrace their heritage. Anyone who says different is a racist. To find a racist you just have to scratch the surface of a white fella and I'm white. I know about racism I always thought I was a very accepting person but I had to face my own racism. It is very interesting to see other white middle class people who espouse equality and how they actually react when their white middle class ethos is questioned by the actions of the 'Other'. The male white middle class ethos especially.

I loved his war dance by the way and embrace it completely.

How does a premiership contender lose clearances to that Blues midfield? Can't believe it. Not trying or real problems?

Re Goodes. Always liked Goodes, but for me his antics, comments and reactions over the last couple of years are increasingly becoming a little too "me me me". I don't see anyone else constantly pontificating about issue A, B and C or drawing as much attention to himself and away from the team. Not even Lance Franklin. Across the industry, footballers are confusing themselves with moral compasses lately. It is somehow seen as heroic to spout 'politically correct' slogans ad nauseum all day. Goodes is talented enough to let his football do the talking and he can do what he wants in his own time. He is in the best 22 currently with his form (just) and I hope he stays there. As I am trying to be objective, I can see why some people are getting annoyed though. The media will of course beat it up, but Goodes made an undisciplined decision to do that. Every opposition supporter will now know how to get under his skin. Not a smart thing to do, probably why he gave Richo that story. But probably a rush of blood that other can't understand unless they were in his shoes. It's all fickle at the end of the day, from all angles.
He was Australian of the year it was his job to be a spokesperson for the issue dearest his heart, Indigenous rights. I wonder if your objection is more because he should be a good little Black Fella and just play the game and keep his mouth shut. That is what you sound like to me. Full of white Fella indignation. He is getting above himself. I heard all this @@@@ in every corridor of power in this country. It is interesting just how the White middle class react to being confronted with the "Other'. The strange and not 'White Normal'. It is too much for many and obviously too much for you. As they say scratch the surface of a white fella and you get a racist. I am a white fella by the way. I had to face my middle class racism some time ago. It was confronting as I always thought I was a very accepting human being but I wasn't. I would have made comments like yours too back then and thought they were ok. But they aren't. What you are basically saying is it is ok to be a star of our game as long as you don't make waves. don't rock the boat and be PC as you put it. It is not PC mate it is celebrating who they are. It is trying to get better conditions and a future for their people. This is what Adam fights for every day. He can't wake up one morning and decide 'I'll be white today' because everybody has made it very clear over the years he is black. The same goes for every Indigenous person living and those now expired. to be proud of who and what he is is a wonderful thing and should be celebrated by us all. We should embrace the indigenous culture and bother learning about it instead of using our so called culture as a benchmark. Our culture might build and be so called advanced but for such an advance civilization we have a powerful bent for destruction. The Indigenous culture is a culture of acceptance, preservation and care of the land, not destruction of the planet.

I don't know you and you are probably a reasonably nice person but I think you are full of White Middle Class Ethos, possibly Male Ethos. This ethos is a position taken from an epistemology of the white well off dominant culture.

so all I am saying now is embrace the dance and love the man for his humanity and his love for his people.

You write many things I disagree with but thank you - i wish I had written this. The game was on Friday and I loved the dance moment (though cringed at the inevitable repercussions) but I'm finding that I'm becoming more annoyed as the hours go past - and more reactionary to those who criticise Adam. I can only repeat that I expect to be saying "I was there" with pride for the rest of my life when Eddie is drooling in the Alan Jones Home for Aging Fascists.

Barry Hall's failure to stand up for his old team mate just reminded me that he never stands for anything apart from "why are they picking on me?". Gutless.

Kurt's treatment was horrendous Friday night, they were literally just tackling him when he was trying to mark it, I'm not sure what else he could have done.

How's about taking a mark on the lead? Wayne Carey's criticism of him was spot on. He doesn't try hard enough to get seperation on his opponent and always ends up in a 50/50 wrestle for a contested mark. Perhaps he doesn't have enough pace.
