I think his pace is OK but I wish the mids would drop the kick in front of him instead of on his head.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

He's 200cm and 105kg, he's not going to be able to break away from a fullback on the lead. He's at his best when he's one out and has the ball sat on his head so that he can use his strength to outmuscle his opponent and take the mark.
But in saying that he's clearly down on confidence at the moment, let's hope he's peaking at the pointy end of the season.Twitter @cmdil

Yeh, had been thinking the exact same thing about Tippett and Carey's observations were very keen indeed. On a goodish night for us, our failure in the clearances against an emaciated Carlton midfield and his inability to make any physical presence were my greatest concerns.Comment

Is he down in confidence or is the rucking duties sapping his energy? Seems to be going best in the first quarters.Comment

As I said BJ has a go. I have no problem with bringing in Hewett, just leave soft rooster Cunningham out of the team. There were times when he was outpointed and had no second effort. I don't know that I have seen him have a second effort. He gets his kicks on his own and rarely looks like winning a one on one contest. He refuses to help out our players or help hold the ball in on the ground. I have said before, his mum doesn't need to ask him for his shorts to wash after a game. Frankly I don't see what the coaches see in him.I don't agree on BJ Nico. His disposals were pretty ordinary. He had the chance in the last to take off and gave Parker a HB that just put him under pressure. UGH! Just teeth ruining! his tackling was good but you need to use the ball when you get it. Bring in Hewett rather than BJ if BJ hasn't got the confidence. He needs to get confidence back if he ever wants to play AFL again. At this stage he looks like being delisted at end of year.Comment

No Bloody way.........You`re kidding me, right? I`m really sure the guys would all really like to do an Aboriginal dance in front of a crowd? Mike Pike would be thinking WTF???Even Santa follows the Swannies.Comment

Mike Pyke would probably be the player it makes the most sense to. The whole NZ team does the Haka before each game they play, regardless of their whether they have Maori heritage or not. Mike would have seen this up close and personal.Comment

The very first time I saw the haka done it was by the NZ women's netball team, many, many years ago. I was just a kid and I thought it was great!Comment
-
Do the white All Blacks (that's confusing) have the option of sitting out the Haka?
And what's with the Blues fans feeling threatened by the dance (not that we all shouldn't feel a bit threatened by a bloke who can dance well)? Did the think Goodes might leap the fence. Fortunately, the AFL has taken action: AFL to ban imaginary spears at games - Titus O'Reily.Comment

Anyone think that Robbo might be a sneaky chance for the Rising Star nomination this week?
Off the top of my head, I can't think of many other notable performances from younger players, aside from the ones already nominated.Twitter @cmdil
