Now, I once almost lost my SCG membership over Razor's infamous effort against Freo, ironically, a few years back. Let's just say my comments as he came up the race involved the threat of at least 37 breaches of criminal law. So I carry no brief for him.
But, we also know he loves stirring up a home crowd. So let's send him love. You never know'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

So am I right in saying that we are without Parker, Kizza and Buddy. It will be raining and we have Razor officiating. A slight headwind...Comment

Fair to say there is a challenge in front of our team however let's remember that in the last three games we have had ten or more goal kickers each week. From that we have lost two players who kicked goals and Lance only kicked two in two games with Kieran kicking only two as well. Hardly a dent in our available scoring options. This is potentially a season defining contest and I for one feel confident especially given how well the "supporting" cast have gone recently.Comment

Reality check. Freo will eat Towers. Towers is a leading forward with very good foot skills and is 25 years old. BUT 2 contesting marks, 6 1%ers, in 9 games and averaging 1.5 tackles, 3.75 contested possessions. Freo will just knock him off the ball. Full game, unless the vest, with less then 8 possessions and 1 tackle. We need fighters, not lovers.Comment

Ironically Freo would be more concerned now about playing the Swans. Instead of playing with a Buddy who wasn't 100%, we have 22 guys who are playing for Buddy.
We've won qualifying finals before in Perth.
The "Nobody Rates Us or Believes in Us" feeling in the camp would be off the charts.
I've got a feeling we might just do exactly that however - don't know why, but I really feel we will be up for it big time on Saturday, and can get the job done.
Carn you bloods - redemption for 2014 begins on Saturday...."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

It seems most think our in's will be McVeigh and McGlynn though Bird has shaded McGlynn in the last couple of NEAFL games. We also have two players that we have "rested" for this game, Rose and Davis. Would love to see one of them come in and tear up the match. We would probably get fined if we played them and won as it would be against the spirit of the competition as defined by the VFL. Sydney are not supposed to win these big games but we might get away with it as we are not playing Hawthorn. All the best for Buddy to get better quickly but it does not sound good.Comment

Bird is a proven performer in big games, can play forward when needed and has kicked important goals. He can also play a run with role if needed.
To me it's a no brainer.
But as I've said before Horse seems to value Towers skill set and I'll be surprised if he's not in the 22.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Spot on. Give me Bird over Towers, particularly in a high pressure game like this one will be.
