I was so impressed with Hewitt- as others have said he's calm and thinks. Have a closer look at Sinclair - he doesn't get flustered either. He's still getting his bearings in the side but I believe he will become very handy. Mills and jones held themselves together down back really well . Rampe has just gone from strength to strength - a joy to watch, Reg played a blinder - nothing like last week. And smooch kept Rioli very quiet - which annoyed Bruce no end. Hanners - well I'm going to put some money on him for the Brownlow now!!! Then there was Gary & Buddy wow !!! So glad we won this - bring on North in Friday night - it's going to be HUGE!!

Alot of players I had question marks over were awesome tonight. Hewett was huge.
Tippett is a star, and somehow underrated by all of us.
Rohan did some amazing things when it mattered, lets hope he doesnt go missing in the next few weeks.
Only player I'm still suspect on is McVeigh. Seems slow and his decision making seems shot.
I think the shock value of his signing combined with his initial suspension and injuries meant that, as is often the case with human nature some turned on him and questioned his value to the team.
I do agree that McVeigh seems to be performing maybe 20% below his recent years and he needs to lift as the season progressesComment

Young George has always impressed me in the Twos. Last year I was sure they would play him bt they decided not to due to his immaturity in the body. He impressed me today with his composure and willingness to take the game on. He set up a couple of great plays, one a goal. @@@@ if this kid ever starts to get 30 disposals tbhe opposition will be absolutely stuffed."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

He gets a bit nauseous with calling players like they are his besties .Comment

Apart from these dubious umpiring calls.. It was a great game by the boys in defence who really stood up and the closing speed to spoil was top notch. Impressed by all tonight and Kennedy was crucial in the clinches.. Tbh didn't notice hanners much on the ground to win BOG"In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment

Was at the game and this was definitely an umpires call. Gunston could not believe his luck and went back for a kick at goal as he knew this would suit his range. Had it of been at the correct mark it would have been touched at the line. This along with the buddy trip at the time was a definite #freekickhawthorn moment in my eyes.
I remarked in an earlier game that I thought Laidler had become quicker this year. Yesterday I saw a player making up ground on Billy Hartung in the 2nd qtr and it was number 11. I don't think he should be classified as a slow player. He doesn't get mentioned much, but he is a very solid player and a key component of our defense. I thought one day he would be overtaken by someone, but his consistent play has changed my mind.Comment

Harry is gradually finding his spot in the team. He isnt a player that ever is going to light up the highlights but he is ever improving.
As for nick smith - he is such a great contraceptive pill for bruce and cyrils ongoing love in! He was superb on him when cyril went up forwardComment

This week will be the hardest ever to pick players who most deserve TLM votes. I can easily think of a dozen who I'd like to vote for.
I am surprised at some of the criticism of Sinclair. Sure, it would be nice if he could hold a few more marks, but he got himself in the right spot at the right time on lots of occasions and neutralised contests even when he couldn't win them. I thought it was one of his better contributions so far this season.
Another player who won't earn votes from me tonight but who I want to comment on is Heeney - and specifically his tackling. Last week he gave away at least four free kicks in our forward fifty for head high tackles against Richmond players. His enthusiasm was commendable but his technique was poor and resulted in us just handing back possession to the Tigers. It just shows how smart he is (and his determination to improve) that this week he came out and executed a handful of really important tackles just as vigorously but with perfect technique so as not to make high contact or get in a player's back. It's truly exciting to think how complete a player he looks like developing into.Comment

Yeah, I've probably narrowed it down to about half a dozen too. But the next half dozen would almost certainly have got the one point from me last week had they contributed as they did last week. As you say, the challenge last week was finding a 3rd player to vote for.Comment

He compensated by gushing about the skill and courage (courage FFS?) of the goal review umpire after making two of the most obvious adjudications that a goal review umpire is ever likely to be called upon to make.Comment
