Cop: Okay boys. Empty your pockets.
Cop to Talia: What's this bag with white powder in it?
MT: I don't know.
Cop: You've got some ID?
MT: Here you go. I am football player for the Sydney Swans.
Cop: You're under arrest for possession of a prohibited substance.
Cop to Jono O'Rourke: What about you? What's this bag of white powder you've got here?
JOR: I don't know.
Cop: You've got some ID?
JOR: Here you go. I am football player for the Hawthorn Hawks.
Cop: Hawthorn Huh? You better get going now or you'll be late for your plane. Go on now.

Yep, if you have told your employer you will not take drugs and then go and do it...
Now there's a point, and we may never know, has he ever even taken Coke? Benefit of the doubt, were the drugs not for him? I am assuming all players get randomly or regularly tested for drugs and Talia would know that, maybe they weren't for him and he has already been kicked to gutter by many without knowing the complete story. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Storm in a teacup. So they can test positive up to 3 times and still play but if they get caught by the cops it's one strike you're out? Hundreds of players do this. Still I see how it's bad for the Swans image as a family club for this to be public, I wonder how often it is hushed up?
And I love the Hawks response that they're confident their player did nothing wrong. Yes - clearly Talia was going to take it all himself! Actually that does look bad for the Hawks, clearly they're not as worried about their image.Comment

Tim Watson says penalty for 1st strike should be stronger.
There wasn't this much outrage when the 2 Collingwood players got done for PED's that were in the ILLICIT drugs that they took.
Eddie Maguire will be all over it.
Silly by Talia to get caught by the police as his name is all over the media, but if caught by the AFL no mention of your name. I am not condoning this behaviour but the double standards are apparent.Comment

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
