What happened to Swans' NO D*CKHEADS POLICY. Talia wouldn't be on the side if that policy is still followed.

At least the controversy has caused the emergence of some good news on Talia

I find it all very positive that he is back in the fold and should be ready to go from day one of training. I expect he will challenge for a spot in our backline next year. It gives us some good cover in the KPP department with AJ on the mend and Abe Davis progressing in the reserves.Comment

Thanks for posting that link Ludwig. At last some news re Talia and even better that it is good news. Remains a mystery how is foot injury turned into an 'indefinite' knee injury (which is what was being said on the injury list at the end of the season) but whatever - if he is expected to be fit start of preseason season training that is very positive.Comment

Talia's Instagram account (which is once more public after going into a discreet private mode after his hiccup) shows he's been touring around some beautiful parts of Europe. So both his foot and his knee seem to be functioning healthily. (And presumably his selfie-clicking finger.)Comment

We still don't know if Talia is AFL standard but I'm hoping that his ugly brush with the law has smartened him up and that maybe for the first time in his AFL career that he is going to give it 100%.
It may be that we got a bargain at the trade table last year when the Bullies just wanted him out to anywhere. Fingers crossed Talia comes good for us.Comment

I think Talia will slot into the top 22. When you consider him and AJ slotting into that backline, the backline is one of our strongest aspects.
Midfield is always strong, but I'm concerned about the forward line now. We are heavily relying on Reid who hasnt played for a year.
We really need a mitch morton type.Comment

What do you mean by a mitch Morton type? A small forward? Like Papley? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Just guessing about Barry's reference to a Mitch Morton type. Perhaps he means someone who's not quick but has classy kicking skills and is clever around goals. Someone like Jarrad McVeigh comes to mind.Comment

McVeigh is the best small forward we've had for a long time...he just never plays there. He kicked 6 goals in a game - 6! With McGlynn's retirement, I can only hope he ends up there. It's a part of the ground that could do with some leadership. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Mitch morton was a bit of class in the medium forward style. Different to papley.
Mcveigh forward?. Lol.Comment

As for Talia. I keep thinking of that famous line from Kirky to Davis in "that" game.
You Owe Us.
Somehow ............. I think he will turn into a keeper. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment
