Oh well at least Channel Seven will have become used to broadcasting events with half empty stands from RIO.

Perhaps they could get 40,000 cardboard cutouts of Barry to fill the void

A Sydney final was always going to be played at ANZ.
It's part of the deal we made to leave the contract early.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Or perhaps the 55,000 members (fans?) could go instead...you know, like a normal footy club.

Exactly this. Would be worth working the finals so that we play at Etihad, we like it there.
Hopefully the club learn from the massive mistake ANZ was.

Wasn't there quite a bit of debate last week re the use of phrases like "genuine Swans fan" and "real Swans supporter".
Now we have to deal with "normal footy club". So many questions re self identity on this forum. It's doing my head in.

The AFL want to schedule a final on a Thursday night but only if it is Adelaide or West Coast as they attract sellout crowds on Thursday nights.

I doubt they would schedule a final at ANZ on a Thursday night...there will hardly be anyone there.

I really hope our supporters turn up for our home final(s) this year. It's the last year we have to play at ANZ so no excuses. We want big crowds to cheer on our boys.

Thursday night at the SCG would be awesome, but obviously it's not going to happen this year.

Jude Boltons last game in Sydney too. It was good times and I was hoping for a crowd of 70k+, but I think it barely hit 60k.

No it wasn't, Jude retired end 2013 not 2012.

                        Darn it! I stand corrected.

Though it's possible that the work had a few side effects?

I suggest you tread very carefully having a go at the members barry, given they actually stump up cold hard cash to support their football team - not like some others who are wedded to a 'grand old lady'
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."

Any member who refuses to go to a home final is fair game imho.
