There should be a discount on finals tickets for those that are members. Of course the AFL would never do that because they are money hungry.

        No. Just no.

Is it even possible to get close to the action at ANZ? The one time I went for the Prelim in 2014 everywhere was far away.

And even regular season tickets cost me a @@@@load at the SCG. I never realized why people don't go to footy games as much in Sydney as Melbourne, but upon visiting Sydney to watch the swans for the first time, I'm fairly sure it has something to do with ticket prices.

This so so true. A Melbourne-based friend takes his 4 kids to a Collingwood game at the MCG and the tickets cost less than the hot chips. In Sydney, he'd be looking at a much higher price.

I'm a lifelong swans fan and it was my absolute dream to watch a swans game at the SCG. Rocked up to the Carlton game last year and I almost cancelled the whole thing when I saw the ticket prices. Think it was $75 or something for a normal admission?? Sweet baby Jesus. The seats weren't even that great. I'm by no means a fickle fan either. But sheesh. Give me a break. THAT'S why we don't see sold out SCG games anymore. The prices. Simple as that. Lower it a little (To a moderate working class level) and I bet we'll sell out every week.

Sure, the club misses a little cash but in the long term I think we'd gain new members/supporters.

Ticket prices for cricket tests are also (horrendously) more expensive at the SCG than anywhere else in Australia. So I think there must be something about the SCG contract that affects prices - not simply price-gouging by the Swans.

The SCG ticket prices are definitely influenced by SCG Trust rather than by AFL or Sydney Swans. Especially, after that upgrade they did to the stadium, they want to get their money back and I'm sure they see AFL as a cashing cow.

                  Just took a quick squiz on ticket prices- for a GA ticket Swans vs. Giants home game prices are;
                  Adult: Swans $32.11 Giants $24
                  Family: Swans $68.82 Giants $48
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Swans have locked themselves into the SCG deal for 30 odd years, so don't expect a change anytime soon.

Gold membership gets you a seat at less than $40 per game. Added bonus of being the same seat each game and getting to know those other swans fans that sit next to you each time

Buying individual tickets to games any where in oz is getting very dear now with the exception of melbourne where both grounds have good seats in ga. Its part of the game now sadly.

Pisses me off to no end that the SCG gives cricket priority when the swans give them a majority of cash easily. Every damn year.

I'd have killed for those prices last year.

And those prices are before the numerous discounts you can find for any gws game bar the derby.

On the all time goal kicking list, Buddy is currently 13th with 773. Just ahead of him on 778 is Kevin Bartlett. I think that Buddy will move into 12th today.

I was talking to someone who was at the Bledisloe Cup game last night and I asked him how his night was (apart from the Wallabies being caned).

He said 'well, it's not really a very good ground for rugby'...
