Maybe the umps thought the blue and white jersey was Hawthorn's away jersey. It makes this win even sweeter!

We let them get far too much of those contested balls in the middle of the ground and kick to their big leading targets. We've lost a lot of these close ones this year, so again, it was good to get away with the win.
We have played weaker sides of recent weeks so HC and DT have looked good. It is when the anti us upped and the pressure on that the tail gets found out. Towers put himself in the game enough but made some big mistakes. That kick into the man late in the 3rd quarter is a good example. Didn't have to hurry and was too close to his man. Harry just panics under strong pressure.

Contested ball in the middle; refer the absence of Kieran Jack.

Aliir really turned his game around in the final quarter. He was challenged today and could so easily have gone into his shell. Instead he was ultimately very influential.

Not the only youngster to belie his inexperience either. Loving this team. The perfect combination of skill, class and grit.

Remembering also that we will be holding back tactically on our exits and entries ....... Can't show too much prior to semis

Ugly but effective game plan and best of all our backline held strong against talls

Beaten in just about every stat, including free kicks, and the Swans somehow manage to find a way. The mark of a champion team. Cheer, cheer.

I'm now hoping the Hawks don't finish top 4. Wouldn't that be lovely?

A good win, tough and a bit ugly, isn't a bad thing this close to finals.

Naismith was huge today, he definitely takes the cake over Sinclair and I hope the match comittee think so too. Great to see Tippett out there playing well.
Buddy looked like an expensive decoy today, but fair enough after his hit to the ribs. Aliir possibly could come out for Teddy, he was found out today and looked too vulnerable and I wouldn't mind some experience back there.
Umpires were a @@@@ing disgrace. But should we be suprised? Over it.

I just pray that we get a fair deal from the b*stards in the finals.....but I won't be holding my breath.

Yes allir struggled today but he had a couple of really big moments in the last quarter - a really tough call coming up for selectors no doubt.

So we should drop Mills as well based on this theory?
Ted has been a great servant but I don't see him as part of our team during the finals
AA was not up to his recent form in the first half but did some great stuff in the second half, he's a keeper and dropping him now would be counterproductive to both his and the teams development.

I beg to differ. I don't think Aliir was found out at all today. He had some challenges early and that might have caused him to lose confidence and stop taking the game on. Yet he didn't. He stood up big time in the last quarter, not withstanding that kick across the defensive 50m that was intercepted by Harvey.
