I feel we are already down on the Mitchell and Narkervis trades and find ourselves with at least 1 draft pick too many. If we trade 14 & 17 to Hawthorn for pick 10 I would sack Tom Harley on the spot. Picks 14 and 17 are very well placed for what we need. Pick 10 does nothing for us. What we need to do is to use Richards, Towers and our later picks to get another pick in the 20s or a 2nd rounder next year.Comment

Moving from 14 to 10 and losing 17? The other part of the deal needs to be significant to do this because nothing standout at 10 that isn't similar at 14 and good players at 17.
We may be hatching something but can't see what it is unless Hawks can get AFL to let them trade next years second rounder - watch this space, must be bloody hectic at the trade centre!Comment

Graham Wright in an interview this morning said they weren't trading any players.
They have already giving their first round pick next year to St Kilda.
At this last stage it would be very surprising that a player was included.
Just can't see how we are winning this year???Comment

Hawks say they won't trade any players.
Only way I can see this working is if Hawks send us their pick 10, we sent our pick 14 and a whole bunch of lower picks to GCS, Hawks send pick 48 to GCS. That way we advance our pick 14 and help GCS with their academy selections, and Hawks give GCS more than they offered yesterdayComment

The best pick IMO, so far, in bold
Looking at the last ten years IMO pick 10 has not been significantly better than 14 & 17 combined except for 2006-2008.
This obviously doesn't take into account accademy, father/son and priority picks or more significantly picks 11-13 which could have been taken with pick 10.
In 2010 you could have gotten Tom Lynch (GCS) with #11. In 2011 #11 was Toby Greene, but probably wouldn't have passed the no dickheads test. #13 in 2013 would have allowed a Paddy Cripps as a long term replacement for Joey?
It could just be that the Swans have a very particular target this year and really don't want take a chance that that draftee will fall through to 14?Last edited by RogueSwan; 20 October 2016, 10:19 AM."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Just one problem; if we are targeting a certain player there is the risk that he will go before #10.
This is not like we have pick 5 or 7; too high risk for me; especially if said player get injured.doof-doofComment
