Thought Hewitt did well on Shaw today after he was torched by him at the scg earlier in the year.
Aliir stood up pretty well, Grundy was very solid too.
Will be a nice change up to have a home game next week too.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

The young guys have played their role well, but as a supporting cast to the 5 x All Australians, Grundy, Tippett (first half of season), Mitchell et al.
Mills, Allir, Hewtt and Naismith deserved to stay in, but we shirked some hard decisions a few weeks ago with Papley, XR and Marsh.
Now we're in a really tough spot - either belatedly bring a couple of the experienced guys back in with no recent senior football, or stick with a few guys that didn't handle the finals level and will struggle to turn that around within a week.
There'd be 10+ players who deserve to be dropped ahead of McGlynn based on today. That pass that was intercepted by Cameron was a shocking play by Rampe - he was retreating backwards instead of attacking he ball, which gave Cameron the chance to waltz through.Comment

Sadly our forward line was outplayed for most of the game. KT (too battered), Buddy (too far up the ground), XR (outclassed and soft)) Hewett (tried but not much impact), Rohan (could not impose himself), Heeney up the ground and McGlynn (too small and slow) Parks (not a good game), Naismith (did he take a contested mark at all?). Papley the only one who showed confidence and spunk. The resulting lack of defensive pressure meant that the mids, Buddy and Heeney etc. could not stop the flow into the Giants forward line when the whips were cracking.
We certainly have not learned how to deal with the biff and bash that certain teams employ as strategy. Come-on coaches, finals footy is fierce! Where is our swagger at being the top team?? Both the Doggies and Giants went into their games confident that they were going to win.

6 clangers for mcglynn. He is first out aside from injury. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

I too thought Papley had a red hot go. Strangely the stats show he didn't lay a tackle but he was at the ball all the time.Comment

Losing 3 quality players in the first half really hurt. Kennedy, Tippett and then Mills. I know that the two former came back on, but they were clearly affected from the knocks. Johnson deserves at least 2 weeks for that hit, meaning he should miss the GF.Comment

If we're playing the Crows next week, it looks like Hartigan will be suspended for that trip. Er, is he any good?Comment
-
Yeah, but likely gets a 2 match discount for pleading that "it happened against the Swans" so should be OK to play in a prelim

He'll probably plead "we're playing the Swans next week" & get offComment

Inconclusive? He deliberately took Kennedy out, OFF THE BALL. Watch the replay. Kennedy was was clearly dazed afterwards, he couldn't even stand up for crying out loud. Concussion or no concussion, it was malicious and resulted in injury.
EDIT: the linked video from the AFL website is incomplete. The impact and aftermath were broadcasted, not sure why its not included in that highlight.Last edited by Blue Sun; 10 September 2016, 08:50 PM.Comment

Agree on the players, but we fans can react how we like thanks Barry! Vision inconclusive? WTF? Pretty clear cut to me, don't know what footage you were looking at.
