2005 we lost in the first round of the finals & it all turned out ok.
2015 Hawks did the same.
But I'm worried about the injuries (JPK, Tippett & Mills). JPK & Tippett didn't look great but probably needed to stay on if able, to remain competitive. Mills, even a lowgrade strain would probably need a little rest. Concussion to Tippett would be a concern given his history.

@@@@ off Barry.
It was one of the cheapest shots you'll see. I know you like fishing but that is even less defensible than your stance on that crappy stadium. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Sorry but this is total crap. He hit him off the play, knocked him in the head and did so with such force that he had the staggers. If that doesn't get a suspension then I'm giving up watching this @@@@in game. Seriously. There is no way that a guy with 16 previous guilty visits to the tribunal can get off that unsuspended unless there is behind the scenes rigging. But that rooster-sucker Fitzpatrick will presumably have the ultimate call (given Gillon the Eunuch is merely a puppet). My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

Kennedy did have concussion. That was why one of the toughest players in the game was unable to get to his feet for a minute or so. However, I'm sure that our medical staff would have diagnosed it as mild, grade one concussion, whose symptoms had largely disappeared during the important time that he was sitting on the bench. The fact that it was a mild concussion was the reason why he was able to return to the field.Comment

I don't see any reason to jump on barry, I tend to agree the hit from Johnson looks incidental in the footage.
We were soundly beaten. Jeremy Cameron's 3rd quarter was pretty remarkable.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Bottom line: the better team on the day won. Perhaps the AFL have created a monster, after the inadequately resourced experiment on the Gold Coast.
We didn't play to our expected standard: we are noted for our pressure and it was well below GWS's. We kicked wildly and randomly, partly because of their pressure and partly because we bombed into the forward 50 relentlessly instead of working our way into a position where we could kick to someone better placed. We are perhaps the best tackling team in the comp, but you wouldn't think so from today. The damage to Tippett and Josh K impacted on us significantly. The umpiring didn't cost us the game but at times made it extremely difficult to bounce back - the Heeney non-mark being the most obvious instance.
I share the view that the break didn't do us any favours, and it was a totally unnecessary move by the AFL anyway. I hope we've seen the last of it.
Mad Dog Johnson should get a fortnight's holiday. Mummy's sling tackles should also be punished.
I'd give Cameron BOG. Outstanding player.Last edited by dimelb; 10 September 2016, 09:51 PM.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Yes it was . Our backline seemed to be 1 quality, mature player down all game. I can understand the marsh selection on top of an already young backline. Then you add mills who mustn't have been fully fit. totally lost at selection IMO.Comment
