Thanks for making this personal . I had thought we were past that. Let's just say our differences are simple. Some want to blame opposition tactics, ground, hits , umps etc.
I think the blame lies with selection and attitude. Things you can control.Comment

So Johnson should only not be charged if the contact is judged to be unavoidable, with no other option available to him.
If Johnson's action is judged to be careless, with medium impact and high contact, it should be 2 matches (down to one if early plea). If it is judged to be intentional it should be 3 matches (down to two if early plea). Given the latter would put Johnson out for the season (if GWS go to grand final) GWS might appeal to the tribunal.
I haven't researched Johnson's past history - but the rules are:
"a Player charged with a Classifiable Offence which attracts a base sanction of two or more matches will receive an additional one-match suspension if he has been suspended for at least two matches in total in the previous two AFL Years."Comment

For some reason I'm not feeling too distraught about this loss. Swans never play well after a bye and they had a soft run in to the finals. From now its no more rests and back to the SCG why by god they belong. Watching the replay I was surprised that that we were still in the game with just 5 mins to go in the 3rd then the Heeney non-mark call followed by the Rampe HTB changed the whole momentum.
Better to get the 'bad' game out of the way now, right, right? Rather than wait till the grand final ala 2014.

The MRP usually have vision available to them that we don't see. Hopefully they can see exactly what caused Kennedy to be badly hurt. Whatever happened it was high contact with (at least) medium impact (Kennedy was clearly badly hurt, had to go off for treatment and concussion test - that is at least medium impact).
So Johnson should only not be charged if the contact is judged to be unavoidable, with no other option available to him.

and 2014 Steve Johnson suspended again as Daniel Merrett, Lindsay Thomas escapeBefore you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.Comment

I know some are baying for blood but when watch the kennedy/Johnson hit the ball is tapped right over there heads as the hit. So Definetly in play and the last second twists as the ball moves is what made the impact worse.
But who knows with MRP.

You mean like tonight?
I think we lack the tall defenders to combat the "monster" forwards (ie talls) especially when there are 2 of them. We're great (miserly) against the slightly smaller (ie less tall) forward lines, but the better sides (including us) have 1 or 2 big forwards & our defenders don't seem to always have the height or physicality to match them.Last edited by goswannies; 10 September 2016, 10:10 PM.Comment

our midfield could not play any worse then tonight
but reality is with GWS they are our remedy and have us on the outside for speed and disposal every day of the week if they win the inside
can't wait for the next game
should be a cracker"be tough, only when it gets tough"
