Radio coverage is over the top! Dogs dogs dogs. Have turned it off now as apparently we aren't in the grand final. Hope all the hysteria wears them out!
Last weekend in Sept 05 - The best weekend of my life!

If Mills was to be selected then I think Hewett could be the one to make way, he doesn't seem to be contributing much in recent games. Unlucky but you have to contribute.
But if Mills aggravates his leg, his contribution from the bench will be pretty low. Who would want to be a selector this week.

It is going to be a tough time for selectors. No matter what the fitness staff and doctors say it is really up to the player to know their body and be honest. This is a hard thing to do when there is a grand final spot on the line.

I was reading an article by Malthouse and he said in 2010 Prestigiacomo was passed fit to play, however he knew he wasn't right and he put his hand up just before the grand final parade.

          .
Biggest myth in footy. We have plenty of leadership with grundy, laidler and rampe.
Our win/loss ratio without mcveigh is very high this year. In fact have we lost a game without him at all?

It's like there's only one team playing isn't it! I'm hoping the dogs let all the attention go to their heads and play like we did in the '14 GF.

I hope Mills comes in. He's had 3 weeks to get over his hamstring and by all reports he trained well last week (just not well enough to play) and I would put him in over Aliir. Not sure about McVeigh, I honestly think all the others have earned their spot, except maybe Hewett.

Interesting on Marsh. I thought he played ok. His stats were not high but he played a very close checking game. I don't know who he was on but their forwards were well held, and when Allir went off he had to stay on the ground. He had 82% TOG which I dare say the 18% off the ground was largely the first quarter. He worked very hard in the last quarter and lacks nothing in endurance and hardness. Was good against Adelaide too. Regardless of experience and ability I would rather take him in to the game than a suss senior player, and Longmire knows he must present a fit team for Saturday, and is not frightened to make the hard calls on whoever he needs to.

Maybe we need to rest him for a couple of games? Worked for Heeney
He is playing up the ground and appears to be playing a negating role. Not lacking courage in close but as most say, doesn't get enough of the footy of late. GF's though throw up some great performances from lesser lights. maybe George will be one of them.

That's to be expected. They haven't been in a GF for 55 years. They are entitled to their time in the limelight. Great for footy.

Heavy rain forecast for Friday. Saturday a clearing shower. Surface should be perfect. Little bit soft might favour us as the Dogs play on the fast track at Ethihad.

I remember '96 and it was a special time for me to be a Swans supporter. To be honest, at the time I didn't even mind whether we won or lost. I never thought I'd live the day to see my boys in a Grand Final so it was just an amazing atmosphere. And to have so many people being so supportive in the lead up for our team.
I can't begrudge the Dogs fans that feeling. I don't wish them success, but it is a special feeling, waiting so long & finally getting to the big stage. They deserve the attention & the warm fuzzies.

In fact, I don't mind less attention for our boys. All the better for them to focus on the job ahead.

I expected nothing less. Keep an eye out for me though, I'll be out and about in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne proudly wearing my Swans jacket. I'll be the victim of jeers and boos I'm sure, but it'll be worth it!

Time to replicate a Fearless Fosdike Grand Final performance?

To justify the Buddy experiment on-field, we need to win at least one flag with him, and this is probably our best bet.

                              * Buddy experiment off-field is already proven.

Funny things to say? Personally speaking after the painful 2014 GF, I am hoping that the occasion gets to the Bulldogs are we have a comfortable win, like Friday Night's game. That 2014 result is still raw in my mind. Bulldogs can have their time next year.
