And yes, he won't take @@@@ quietly either. I'm pleased he's there. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I think the whole list will be there. If my memory can be trusted, in presentations past, the reserves have been on the field, watching the medals being handed out.Comment

I remember a while back (can't find it now) where someone believed in the UK that the true champions of England (in football) were the winner determined by inference. (i.e. x beat y who beat z who beat a so x must be champions), not the te. Last I saw it, someone like Fleetwood were the so called 'Champions of England, according to that measures."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

This appears to be the first time Jake Lloyd has been named in the back line. I have noticed him moving back over time but never named there.Comment

Tough for Allir, Towers and Cunningham, and to a lesser degree Marsh.
I reckon if you told Marsh at the start of the year he'd play a few finals but not the GF, he'd be happy with that.Last edited by CureTheSane; 30 September 2016, 10:31 AM.The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Everyone keeps talking about how good our starts are, which makes me nervous because what if we don't get a huge start like we have the last two weeks?
I'm just praying we don't see a repeat of 2014. Although I do much rather losing soundly than losing the close ones.Comment

Long time lurker here...
McVeigh In - An excellent in. Brilliant decision maker. Very good kick of the ball.
Mills - Will give us run and creativity off the half back line.
Im worried about no. 29 Hewitt, he was average at best against Geelong. I honestly thought he would be dropped instead of Marsh.
Our Midfield is exceptional, I don't think these young dogs can match it with the big boys.
All the pressure is on the dogs, thousands of fans this, thousands of supporters this that and the other.
How will they handle adversity? Its a very good chance they could be 3 goals down in the 3rd quarter.
We are a seasoned finals team with size, strength and experience.
Swans by 26 points.

Remember Franklin in 2008 against the bulldogs, kicked 8 goals and tore them to pieces. Im hoping for something similar from him tomorrow!!Comment

In the GF Record, there's an article on David Parkin. He's been to every GF since 1949, and said, "I wanted to see what the best were doing. I was a student of the game ... and I thought I would learn the most on GF day about what happens and how it happens." The article goes on to say, "To this day, Parkin feels disdain for any current player who passes up the chance to be at the Grand Final. 'My attitude is that this is the most unprofessional approach... They might watch it on television, but as far as learning about the game, that is 10 per cent as useful as going. I have a great deal of difficulty understanding that attitude if you are a professional footballer.' "
I found that a really interesting and perceptive comment from a bloke with a great knowledge of the game.Comment
