He's a weird one. He was highly lauded at Richmond in 2014 and 2015, managing to win clearances when no-one else on their team could but seemed to fall out of favour last year and this year barely got a look-in. His main asset seems to be getting first possession at stoppages (with a Selwood style use of head and neck adding to his clearance tally) but that makes him a poor man's Tom Mitchell. And given the club deemed Mitchell expendable, it's hard to see him being a high priority unless it's to prop up the NEAFL side and provide depth in case of injury to one of our mainstay midfielders. I guess he'd at least be cheaper than Mitchell.

Don't know about the 'ethically' part, but he has said he only wants to go to a Victorian club (as his children are in Victoria and he has split from his partner).

If you look at the flags won by qld and NSW, you have the lions which was a super team assembled by a merger and cap assistance. Since that has been removed they are at the bottom of the ladder.
Swans won flags with cost of living allowance, and have remained competitive by good management and a couple of guns via academy's.
Gold coast got the same concessions as GWS yet sit outside top 10. GWS can't get past prelim with startup concession s but are now losing players that concessions are removed.

I have a feeling the MCG gives a Vic team a 10% advantage in a grand final, so an interstate club has to be a 10% better side just to break even. You can build a 10% better side by 10% extra cap space.

I think 10% is underselling it. Stats probably point to more like 20%.

The AFL has, suprise, suprise, an integrity problem. I don't think it will be fixed until Gill is gone. He is guided by the Vic media.
The other considerable inequity for non Vic teams in the Granny is the supporters sky rocket.

Flights, tiks, accomodation and eating out for several days for you and and other family members is thousands. Richmond supporters mostly just walked to the ground .

Well that was one positive for not make the Granny I guess .... continued working oh and half way through the year had a hunch about the Tigers and backed them at very long odds.

I had completely forgotten about it . Then I went and told the misses and she goes "I want a new MixMaster".

So there goes the new Calloway One Wood.

              From AFL.com.au

"Out-of-favour Demon Jack Watts could be on the way to the Swans, according to NAB AFL Trade Radio.

Watts has another two years to run on his deal but Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin "encouraged" the No.1 selection from 2008 to explore his options.

A move to Sydney would likely see tall Kurt Tippett leave, with a number of clubs showing interest in the 30-year-old.

Tippett, who is contracted until the end of 2020, struggled with an ankle injury this season and didn't take part in the Swans' finals campaign."

If we lost Tippett and got in Watts that'd be a win in my book.

That would be awesome if we could get it done. Watts is a bit of a risk but I think that he can flourish in the Swans environment. Talk of Talia heading to Saints too.

She must be pretty pissed off to blind herself to their 2 kids who she will likely have for the majority of the time and receive child support for.
The better a deal Stringer gets, the better off she will be.

Regardless, he seems like a bit of a mess, and whilst the Swans are seen as a club who can help a player with a mess, I'd steer clear of this one, not that we even know if there is any interest.
