Which is why we can get back at the AFL by getting number 1 draft pick and play them at their own game. At least we didn't trade it away like Hawks did and now all the priority picks to GWS and GC are over so bettr to be bottom now than a few years ago. We will be back but I would start "tanking" I mean resting injured senior players every couple of weeks on a roster basis so their bodies can recover and play all the kids.

I still can't believe how many players we have running around at the moment that can't hit a target within 15 meters! So many of them are 50/50 whether they can perform this basic yet crucial skill! Papley is hit and miss along with pretty much all the long term senior players. Our best are our first and second year players who we should hardly be relying upon to win games!

As I said earlier, these blokes are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to perform yet they can't even do the basics!

BJ, Cunningham and Rose will never be AFL standard. Melican might, but he is slow. Tommy Papley had a crack, some good some bad. We are a rabble ruined by injuries and an outdated gamestyle. Time to start checking out the No1 draft prospects for next year.

I do get very jealous of teams who can hit targets again and again....we have been crap disposers for years now. WTF is going on over the summer months at our club???

I've always preferred the multiple captains option, as I think that it increases the chances of better in club communication.

I really hope Longmire makes at least some acknowledgement that things aren't working and we need to make changes (beyond rotating the deck chairs at selection).

He has a long-term contract and some success behind him, and needs to break out of his denial that the players aren't delivering to the (presumably what he thinks is still a good) plan.

It is a coaching issue when we can't move the ball out of defence at all - yet poor teams like Carlton and Collingwood slice us to ribbons consistently.

If I were Sam Reid I wouldn't sign a contract with us at the moment if $1 million a year was being offered. He's such an example of how we mis-manage talented players - with a negative, plug the leaks in the dam wall mentality.

What was the story with Grundy going off? Will he be OK next week?

Given the season is gone lets make some big changes. Captaincy to Mills, he might be a little young but is a born leader let him grow into the role. Sorry but Josh's game has dropped and he doesn't have the personality required to captain a struggling team.

Play the kids we think have a future until they prove they do/don't.

John Longmire thanks for the premiership time to let one of your assistants have a crack till the end of the year, I suggest Kirky who understands the culture better than anyone. Sadly for John the AFL has changed the rules of the game to a style he can't coach too. For years we have been recruiting solely for crash and bash football, now you also need skill which we simply don't have.

Injuries have been a mask for just how badly we are playing.

Finally, the AFL will probably get its GWS Premiership but that won't help such an artificial entity, maybe a bit of honesty starting with a name change to the "Somewhat Western Giants" might be a good start as would be the decision to decide where they are going to play. What would happen if they had a ticker tape parade and nobody turned up, I think we may be about to find out.

Can't see us winning a game this year. Maybe against the Hawks but that's debatable! Commentators couldn't believe how quickly us and the Hawks have fallen away.

I think it was some sort of head knock, didn't seem that bad. Not sure how he got it.

They'd need to have it in Canberra....

Grundy was terrible today. Was lazy. Seems to really struggle without Rampe. Not writing him off but given his age and Smith too, time to start future planning.

On the other hand i reckon Meilcan is going to be a 200 game player.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.
