Melbourne aren't good enough yet. Give them a few years of finals footy and they would be genuine contenders.

Richmond are too brittle. They find ways of coughing up leads in the last quarter and they were 82 points down at half time against St Kilda.

The premiership will be won by Adelaide, GWS or Sydney. Geelong are also a chance if they avoid playing the Swans during the finals. No other side is good enough.

Were the Bulldogs good enough to win all four of their finals last year without the free kick help throughout the series?

        Best spot is 5th.

        1st home final
        2nd final away, probably richmond
        Prelim in Sydney v giants.
        GF against crows neutral venue.

        Only one genuine away final.

Seems pretty straightforward as fairytales go

Collingwood seem to be doing everything they can to improve Port's percentage

Right now they are still 1% behind us.

Isn't it funny that the Melbourne media want Buckley to stay on at Collingwood, yet they are only 2 points ahead of freo on the ladder which have had a shocker season.

What is the scenario if we finish 6th which is more likely if Port win their two easy games and we drop against Crows.

                  Not as good.

Next week is fascinating. I want port to beat dogs so dogs are out of finals, but only if we beat Adelaide. If we lose to Adelaide, I want dogs to keep port down below us (I feel sick saying that)

Thanks Collingwood. Port only need 7 more points to overtake our %, but couldn't do it. We are 5th

The Pies are ordinary, could have won that game with a bit more nous.

It seems like a nice reward for the effort to finish the round in fifth position.

The other results can take care of themselves. Our job now is to take down the Crows. Go Bloods!

We've done well to reel them in, considering that Port were nearly 10% ahead of us just two weeks ago.

They did well considering who they had out. Collingwood had several good players out against Port including Grundy and Pendelbury.

Not too worried who we play or where we finish as long as we get a home final and 13 wins with our % should get that.

I'd quite us to finish 6th and play the Dees and hopefully play Geelong away in the second week if GWS beat Geelong at home.

My prediction ladder is as follows:

                            Adelaide
                            GWS
                            Geelong
                            Richmond
                            Tigers
                            Swans
                            Port
                            Melbourne
                            Bulldogs

Key games for the make up of the finals are Geelong v GWS which should determine who gets the home final and Dogs v Port which the Doggies need to win at home to make the 8 (and beat the improving hawks) - if they don't win both then the Bombers could well go into the 8 but if Port beat them then we will probably finish 6th. I'd expect us to finish 5th if we beat the Crows but I think we'll get done on Friday.

Can't see West Coast beating either GWS or the Crows but would love to play them at home in the first week

To get top four, we have to beat Crows and Blues and one of the following has to happen at a minimum:
                              * Tigers drop one game - better run than Cats but it only take one @@@@ game and they're gone
                              * Cats drop both of their games - no Hawkins next week v Pies, GWS final round, can't see them losing both though

On top of this, if Port win both games, they can steal our top four spot if they edge ahead even slightly on percentage.

As for top eight, too many scenarios, we can finish ninth at worst or fifth at best.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Richmond holding down two places in the finals would be quite interesting.

I think Essendon will make the finals instead of the Bulldogs. Essendon have two easy games (Gold Coast and Fremantle) and the Bulldogs have Port Adelaide and Hawthorn.
