Tigers, for sure. I know the Dees have the longer drought but think of the size of the Tiger Army. Also, the Dees seem like a side on the rise, a team with some substance behind their improvement (which they ought to have, given how long their rebuild has taken). I don't find the Tiger charge quite so convincing, not on a sustained basis, anyway. They've had a great season but the make-up of their squad makes me wonder how sustainable it will be, and the unconventional structure of the side (all those small forwards) means they are more likely to be "worked out" in the off-season, much as the Dogs have been (to some extent) this year.

Plus, if Dusty is lured away to another club their paucity of class beyond their top few players will be horribly exposed, I fear.

I unconvinced about Richmond, their class falls away quite sharply and their bottom 5-6 are ordinary. Had the advantage of a soft draw this year courtesy of their low 2016 finish. Have played the four powerhouse sides 5 times this season for one win against GWS, when GWS were undermanned and playing poorly. When the wick gets turned up Richmond don't rise with it. Plus they will be carrying a huge monkey of finals failure, some of it embarrassingly so like Carlton elevated from 9th in 2013, Windgate debacle against Port in 2014. Would love to get Richmond second week of finals but I think that honour will fall to the equally inept against powerhouses Port.

Melbourne have more depth and class but probably a year too early?

Still think it's whoever has the most luck from here out of Crows, GWS & us.

If things go as predicted, how will Bleak City cope without any footy in town for 18 days ?

          Bye

          Then

          Crows v Tigers in Adelaide
          Giants v Cats at Spotlless
          Port v Bombers in Adelaide
          Sydney v Dees at SCG

There is still some footy on bye weekend...

Friday night is the Ted Whitten Legends game....EJ Whitten Legends Game - AFL.com.au
Saturday night is the Womens State Of Origin....State of Origin - AFL.com.au

The U/18 Girls All Australian Game is on before the Womens SOO at Etihad.

I know it's not the same but still plenty of footy for desperate southerners.

Just slightly off topic, but I'd love to see the State of Origin rectified for the boys, too. But, have the teams from WAFL, SANFL, VFL, NEAFL.

State of origin has no value anymore.
What they should do is have a game of teams from combined AFL teams. A four team comp, semi final style.
                North: swans, GWS, lions, sun's
                Central West: Adel, port, WC,freo
                And two Vic teams.

All Australian team is selected from participants.

Adelaide Crows, GWS, Geelong and more ? who can win the AFL flag in this topsy-turvy season? (ABC Online)

So if we can land 5th, and play in the Geelong and GWS side of the draw, it's the best possible scenario versus playing Crows twice .

I think you are right. Whilst I really would prefer to play the Dees week one instead of the Bombers avoiding the Crows at AO is more important.

Really though it's not worth worrying about, at this stage you just have to beat who is in front of you

This is how I see the round 6 ladder.

It's hard to believe we're playing finals with a start like that.

The only real movement in that ladder is us and hawthorn. Everyone else stayed the same including top 4

So the only real reason to play the last 16 rounds of the season is so that we can get into the 8. Otherwise, they didn't need to both with
them, and the GF could have been played on the Queens Birthday weekend.

Amazing, the top 5 at round 6 will highly likely be the same top after this weekend, and in the same order!
