As someone who's done 3 ACLs, wouldn't wish one on anyone - elite athlete/opposition player or not.

    They really do suck.

The fat lady's not sung yet (though she's definitely limbering up her lungs) but it's looking like Gil will be spared the expense of trucking turf up from Melbourne to resurface Stadium Australia.

The way they are playing against the Crows would lend credence to this theory.

They're looking a bit straight setsy, the Giants.

It's a shame. A Giants Swans Prelim would have been massive.

Saw almost the worst decision of all time tonight. Betts is a metre behind behind Lobbe, already in the protected zone. He starts to run away from his position to chase a player. Then decides to go back into the Zone to run after another player. At that point Lobbe goes to take his kick and Betts tackles him. No play on is called and he gives holding the ball. Go figure. 50 metres every day. Umpire Ryan hang your head in shame.

We couldn't hear play on called on the audio, but even if it was Betts should not have been where he was. Then again why would it be play on if he was simply kicking over the mark.

They were very soft. Kelly, Ward, Shaw, Coniglio and maybe a couple of others had a go, but the rest were high draft picks who played for themselves and didn't want the hard footy. I hope we never trade for over the hill players like de Boer and Deledio. Way too hard for Whitfield and Hopper. I reckon Hopper's price just dropped through the floor. Fancy anyone comparing him to Callum Mills.

De Boer did ok, actually.Cost them nothing and did better than a lot of the fancied. He is underrated and not a media favourite. GWS looked too skinny and light , and were comprehensively outcoached. Their ball handling in the slight wet was so far inferior to Adelaide. Mummy was non-existent.

                      Hopper re-signed during the week.

They were exceptionally poor tonight and quite frankly I think their list is in a fair bit if strife. Too many kids who have been given too much too early and never had to fight for anything their entire life. Shiels, Whitfield and even the Grub were all notable absentees. Know he was injured but is there a bigger waste of $1m a year than Jeremy Cameron, he is the consummate flat track bully and I have never seen him stand up when the heat is on.

Mummy is cooked and will be poor next year, Shaw is also on his last legs and along with Stevie J they also have a couple of other pensioners in Deledio and Griffin chewing up huge cap space and adding little. If Kelly heads south, and I reckon putrid efforts like that cannot help him want to stay then reality will be hitting big time in 2018. Remember too folks their ressies finished stone motherless last so they hardly have a huge pipeline. It's a few years off but once they lose Davis, Scully and Ward who are the heart and soul of that list they could well go the same way as the Suns. And watch the muppets out there desert the sinking ship when they do.

They were poor, but they were getting beaten up playing away against the minor premiers. The Giants list is fine, they were legitimately hammered by injuries all season and that took a significant toll on their reserves results- they had one or two games where they fielded a comically low number of listed players.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Thought they would hand a much sterner examination to the Crows than that, who were brilliant with the greasy ball.

I agree the Giants were poor yesterday, but we were made to look very ordinary in the QF last year before regrouping and making our way to the Grand Final. Next week they will host either Port or West Coast at Spotless and they're capable of beating either.

They do need to do something about that forward line, though. It's looking very impotent.

Their ball movement into the forward line was appalling.

Something's crook in western Sydney. This is a mere shadow of the team that played last year's finals.
