I knew we'd lose as soon as we had the second injury to Reid. Seriously, we gotta trade this guy. Unless he takes a major pay cut he's not worth it. Not to mention Tippett.

I don't blame Longmire at all. I'd give him two years with horrible results before we sack him. Sacking is never the answer and I'm not sure why clubs do it so often.

I don't like it how everyone on social media is blaming Mills so much. Second year player being played out of position. He's got a lot of heart.

My god Hawthorn are a scummy club. If I was at the ground I would have gotten a life ban for spitting on Hodge.

4 goal difference attributable to umps
Hawks $7 the win ( I smell a number of rats)
Several very lethargic players (Mills, Parker standouts for me). Chasing and tackle pressure poor.
Not playing man on man from the start.
Misplaced agression. Roughing up Hawthorn at the start was not what was needed. Backing up your team mates when under attack was ( Tippett was left to battle 2 Hawks for a long time without any help from his team mates).
Exhausted players make mistakes. Easy to blame them but sometimes the body doesn't behave as one would normally expect.

There is no way the loss can be blamed on umpiring though - we were 7 points up and shut up shop, instead of continuing to take the game on and finishing them off. They got luck as they always do and we paid the penalty. Would of liked the clear HTB free to be paid in the dying seconds though 30 out from our goal though - Hawks player took possession took a player on and dropped it cold. But the umps had swallowed the whistle by that stage...
Most sensible comment, with the quote from Scottee, I've read so far.

As for Clarkson, we did it his way. Again. And apologies to Frank Sinatra.

But let's all take a deep breath before we call on Longmire to be sacked, I know we have a period of success here at the Swans but the sense of entitlement that some of us have almost makes me want to miss the finals

The only thing I ask from our players once I've calmed down from the disappointment of losing is they give 100% and they gave that last night.

We were two men down the majority of the game and that was a major factor, in fact I think they way we were able to come back was brilliant. I know it is the same for all teams but I really believe that there should be an extended bench with two medical emergencies (controlled by an independent Doctor) as for mine injuries play too big a role these days. In the old days players played through head knocks which thankfully they don't now but it clears the bench.

The Hawks were at their bullying best last night and were a bit hard and grizzled for our kids. And whilst they are a team in decline they can still play good footy and on their day they'll win a few more game sthis year.

Ultimately we didn't take our chances. Yes it was disappointing that Mills took the wrong option at the end but I'm not going to throw a kid in his second season under the bus for that defeat.

Looking forward it will be interesting to see how our list responds to the rest of the season. I expect efforts like the last four weeks, and I do include last night's effort, and if we get that then all we can do is try and get as many games into the likes of Hayward, Florent, Melican, Mills and the like
Also a sensible summation. Wisdom cometh in the morning.

when we are outmarked 2-1 and cant get our hands on the ball that is method and the coaching box needs to do something

we could have won but against a depleted hawks we should have been 5 goals up at halftime and injuries etc shouldnt have mattered

GWS dont wait they play them
He is a top 3 pick
He is BODY ready put him in and again play the x factor defender you have in the ressies
Exactly! Either play him as a midfielder or don't play him at all and let him develop in the NEAFL as a midfielder.

Weak as piss effort for mine. Sick of turning up to the SCG and not seeing the team do the same. We play the SCG like it's alien territory, our opponents constantly able to dictate the game style. That's because we con't work hard enough and don't put enough pressure - exactly the opposite of how we play at Etihad for some reason.

Should have won the game against a injury depleted Hawks by 8 goals or more I think - the team obviously thought they should too and turned up expecting it to happen. A very very disappointing end to season 2017, hope we can get some level of improvement in attitude at least from the rest of the year.

Will be sending a note to the club pointing out that I refuse to make the effort to turn up to the SCG if the players don't - will boycott games until I feel like they're actually ready to play from the bounce.

Pretty disappointed with last night, but I will say that I thought Nick Smith was fantastic, particularly in the second half. Back to his best I would say.

Our defense looked disorganised at times thought, particularly when Hawthorn took Rampe deep into the goal square. There are not enough experienced leaders out there.

True enough. We peaked in prelim and played magnificently. Had some bad luck with injuries and umps but it was a golden opportunity. Great effort to regoup by coach and players to regroup after being beaten and 'belted' by GWS. GF still sticks in the throat however.

Mills made mistakes and had plenty of friends. I don't believe he will add anything to our midlield. He is not quick and we already have enough one paced midfielders
