The first decision was based on the position of the ball and whether the entire ball had passed the post. I think it did but it was at least debatable.

That second decision in particular showed no evidence of it touching the Essendon players fingers. In addition, the ball had passed the post. That was a clear goal and should have been overturned.
Yes, I thought that both were goals, but it's possible that I'm biased. Certainly thought the first one showed no evidence of being touched and if it was, it was behind the post. Unless, they are trying to claim that if it's possible that a millimetre of the ball is still level with furthest tip of the padding, then it's a behind, no matter how high up the post the ball is? I would say that it seems to be more sensible, that if there's clear daylight between hand and post, then it's a goal.
But hey, how about those bloods!!

I agree. We should have won by atleast 11 points if the correct decisions had been made.

That was one if the best comebacks I can remember with just a few other immortal games.

These sorts of games really bring the players together.A good omen for the rest of the year.

Took my daughters American boyfriend (just arrived here) to the game . He's hooked. Loved it.
Extremely cool mark by Gazza with a few seconds left .

I just watched the last stoppage again - were we a bit lucky that Naismith was not penalised for a push in the back on the opposing ruckman?

WE got the luck from the umpires? You can't be serious.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Thought that Heeney was BOG in the first half, but that Joey's work at the clearances in the second half, may have meant that he became the overall BOG. Also thought that Mills was really good, with him and Lloyd often popping up to provide important escape options in the back half. And they both used it well. Parker, Papley, Rampe and Rohan all had their moments. Ahhhh, that last moment from the ginger ninja. I suspect that many people were thinking, like me, "He couldn't possibly miss this, could he?" But no, straight through the posts. Interestingly, none of the players seemed to have that worry, as they were celebrating before he had even started his run up. And like last week, the close win seemed to transform the coaching staff. In a matter of minutes, they went from aging men buckling under the pressure, to kids in the schoolyard, with far more possibilities than cares.
Seeing victory prised from the jaws of defeat, just gives you a warm inner glow, doesn't it?

Yes, top game to start with! Now all you have to do is explain the rules and the umpiring. Good luck with that.

The Buddy behind with 30 sec left ultiminately won us game. A goal by Franklin and the end would have been a draw, 2 points; and not a win.

Think about it: once again a huge behind by a legendary Swans forward has gathered a one point win against the Bombers at the SCG.
