Hard to know what the result might have been if the first one (which looked a bigger clanger of a call to the second one) was given as a goal. It was right in the middle of the huge period of momentum the Bombers had and might of allowed us to settle the game down. But not to worry given the finish that was in store!

That's what I've been telling everyone , Buddy's long bomb point was the clincher.

After the complete disregard of incorrect disposal and HTB all night, bout time we got some luck.... just in time as they say!

We got it done in that last five minutes, off the back of some momentum killing umpiring a few minutes earlier, but WTF. @@@@ty game overall, for both teams; too many turnovers, over-used the ball, missed set shots (a blight on most teams, and in turn the game right now), kicked wide when we didn't need to, butchered kicks and handballs, passed to a contest etc etc.

Very frustrating, but awesome to take the four points. I felt good in the end, that's what matters.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

What an outrageous game. Putrid until the end, then amazing. I'll take it anyway!

Haven't heard the SCG erupt like that for a long, long time. Brought back memories of all those mid-2000s heart stoppers. You know in a weird way...I preferred them.

                Or if we'd kicked straighter

                11.20 (86) v 12.13 (85).

Wow!!! This night was crazy - I took a friend of mine tonight and we haven't been to the footy together since 1996 preliminary final - against guess who??? And we win by 1 point - so 21 years have gone by and what happens again tonight?? Add to that I got out of the car park in record time - great night all round!! Came home and watched the last 5 minutes - Bruce's call " MARK, MARK,MARK, ROHAN" was terrific!! Can we allow ourselves to Get carried away? Soo looking forward to going to the MCG on Friday night - let's hope we can do it against Melbourne!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I had so completely and utterly accepted the loss, that I still can't really process the final result. I'll watch the last 5 minutes in the morning. Probably a hundred or so times. Maybe it'll sink in then, but I don't feel as euphoric now about that one as I should.

I walked out of the TV room when the Buddy goal was disallowed. Left the TV on though so I hear enough go get me back in to watch the unbelievable finish. Our boys looked so stoked with that win. Must be an incredible feeling to come back. Great effort to not give up.

About 5 minutes to go, I prayed "Please God, end the pain". Suffice it to say, pain is now gone!

I didn't watch all the goal reviews closely, but I think they got one right (Buddy's I think). First couple of times through it looked to have clearly gone behind the Essendon player's hand. But then I spotted one or two frames where you could see his index finger bent back as the ball crossed the line. Very, very tough decision, but I think it's +1 for the goal review there. But some of the of field umpiring! McDonald-Tipungwuti flops on the ball on the ground, Swans player kneels and tackles him (arms wrapped around, leaning over) - that's a HTB decision plain as daylight. How they picked a free for the bombers there is beyond me.

I've been a long time Towers fan, but he made quit a few errors tonight. Maybe time he takes a spell. Hayward did do some good things, but his decision making from what I saw was quite poor. I'm not sure if it was the pace or the pressure, or just an off night.

Also interesting to hear Longmire's comment that one of the other coaches (perhaps Dew) was the one who moved Rohan forward. Definitely a good call. Kennedy was a beast tonight - probably the key to us winning.

Further confirmation - Kennedy is a beast, Towers might need a rest and Hayward not up to his usual standard.

Interesting reading there for Rohan-haters too.

I expect a few changes next game. Our bottom give were pretty ordinary. Rohan, towers, melican, Florent, Hayward.

Rohan may save himself again by some last quarter luck.

Even if you put aside his last second winner Rohan did a very good job defensively on the dangerous McDonald-Tipungwuti. With Jones not available i don't think we had any other player quick enough to go with him.

I can't remember if they were goals but his man did seem to take quite a few marks in forward 50 with him trailing in behind. Have away 50m penalty for a shoot to.

Towers seemed to have a trading role sometimes on watson.

Melican looks like Newman, plays like towers.
