As for the left foot kick on the full in the slippery conditions- sure it was bad but our no 4 in exactly the same spot in previous qtr chipped a perfect pass straight on to an opponent's chest. He had plenty of friends making basic skill errorsComment

He's kicked the winning goal late in two games now, with one after the siren. Maybe it's fine to just be excited that a guy who's had so many ups and downs already in his career has been able to delivery for us when we needed it in back to back games.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Three consecutive weeks where our goal kicking has been atrocious. We won't keep getting out of jail so we need to take our chances.
The team played well, but if we kicked straight early that could have been a crushing win.
Nevertheless it seems like the type of win that can build belief and create a lot of momentum.
After the crows Hawks game we got another reminder that really anything is possible this year.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Next week Jones in for Towers. Got to fit in Dawson some time soon, injury probably.Comment

I thought Melican was great too. And he's going to keep just getting better. Very happy with him.
Even though they were down the bottom of the fantasy points I saw a lot to like about Olly (especially first half) and Hayward (I love him! He didn't quite pull off all the things he attempted but he kept trying and he's only going to get better too. So great we are getting games into him.)
For me it was hard to pick bests. Different players did good things at different times and I didn't notice any player really dominating the contest. However, I would like to put in a good word for Buddy. What I liked about his game was that, even though he didn't kick any goals, when the game was on the line and our season was possibly slipping away in the last 10 minutes, I looked around and thought who is going to do something about this? Who is going to stand up and lead the charge to try and get this game back? And it was Buddy. Buddy was the one who dug deep and made an extra effort, and got involved and believed. He scored the behinds. His influence was critical (albeit not as obvious as in the Hawthorn loss when he tried to get us over the line on his own but couldn't). Both me and my mate who came to the game with me agreed that without Buddy we wouldn't have clawed that game back and won. Not sure if others will agree with this analysis. How many times has Buddy individually been the difference between us winning and losing a match? That is definitely not the first, second, third, fourth or fifth time. He is absolute gold! So glad we got him.All opinions are not equal. The other thing I wanted to say was that if we don't make finals - still a 50/50 proposition in my book but odds improve if we win next week - this game will be the highlight of the season. Really special and memorable. It's important to appreciate this because maybe we won't make the finals but it can still be a worthwhile season which provides a lot of happy moments. It's not only about winning the flag.
(Last night certainly goes a fair way to balancing out the losses I attended against the Giants and the Hawks which were dismal in different ways. I have to admire you guys who were there barracking for us in the early 90s when there were whole seasons of dismal. I suspect you are not among those who whine and lose faith whenever we lose a few games.)All opinions are not equal. At the time I was hoping he would kick it and we could get a draw at least.
But that was the winning point and then a great smother by Papley, a great kick by Rampe and then GAZZZZZZZZAAAA .
So happy he did that as he has had such horrible luck over his footy career.iComment

I'm so impressed by the players (both young and old) last night. Only 1 minute and 40 seconds to go, down by 12 points and they didn't give in, even when it looked like it was well and truly done.
I know many of us here (myself included) have become somewhat jaded given the end of last year and the start of this year, but this Sydney team are starting to put something special together. They have heart and are playing for each other.Comment

More thoughts:
* I loved watching Rampe last night. Rampe is playing on Daniher and giving away a massive height (and even greater) reach differential. (Early on I thought they had all the match ups wrong. I forget who Grundy was playing on but at that time it was against someone much quicker and more agile.) Anyway, Rampe was obviously psyched for his match up and it was great watching him give his all in a David and Goliath battle, making it clear to Daniher early on that he wasn't going to be intimidated. Rampe didn't have an amazing match but it was his best since his return from injury.
* I echo the complaints about Towers. I, too, was calling for him to go to the bench in the 4th.
* Kizza not too much impact. Do we give him more time to improve or do we give someone else (like Florent) a chance? Someone has to make way for Jones next week. I would love to see him be made to earn a recall in the twos but, unlike Macca, he is contracted for some years yet and I wonder if that will make them less likely to demote him and more likely to persevere. All opinions are not equal. WOW.
I have been to most home games since the early 90's and I have only heard the crowd as loud as last night once before - when a great full forward kicked a point against a red hot Bombers team to put us into a Grand Final.
With 4 minutes to go a lot of Swans fans were leaving after Hurley got that goal from a 50m penalty that no one knew what it was for - they we all coping heaps from Bomber fans who were screaming their brains out.
Then in a crazy and unbelievable finish that was hard to understand what happened, the siren sounded and we had won.
The crowd around us went beserk, Bomber fans slumped in their seats and the song was sung with such gusto from all Swannees that my voice this morning sounds like walking across a gravel pit.
Fantastic effort by the team and I have watched the last 5 minutes many times already just shaking my head in awe at this team.Comment

thank god my TV is still working, a game of twister box got frustratingly thrown at the TV..screen flickered but all good to see an amazing finish..
Yeah we should have been in front a lot further with poor kicking, however games like that can bring belief in a team..
my only concern is that we are coming from along way behind to make the finals, hopefully we don't cook ourselves to get there..that being said the way the season is panning out most teams might be similar in keeping top 8, top 4 spots...
reading the bombers page on BF from this page..hillarious
