BT was on Triple M today promulgating the theory that the Swans doctored the SCG by letting the grass grow long and watering the pitch before the NEAFL game. The idea being that it would blunt Essendon's speed advantage. However he didn't reveal the source of his information, saying it was off the record (?)

Shame on the swans! Obviously someone from our club ducked out and watered the ground at the NRL match that was playing at the same time, too. Players were slipping there as well.
Still, BT has the microphone so I know what all of my workmates here in Melbourne will be thinking. It will be COLA and academies all over again...

True but he's no worse than the other Vctorian commentators. Darcy and Ling are the most biased going around. Both of them utterly despise us and Brisbane.

I agree- Ling tries to hide it but Darcy, specially on Talking Footy, always changes the topic if someone else brings up the Swans.

Surely with the amount they are paying they can have all the content they want? I would have thought this but clearly I'm wrong because you're explanation makes sense. Also, the 'broadcast deal' - is that with Channel 7 or Foxtel or both? Maybe Foxtel has the greater rights and Ch7 only gets a minimum amount (which is protected to some extent by anti-siphoning laws)?

I think that Fox has the right to broadcast five games exclusively (and to simultaneously broadcast the C7 games). So C7's four games is a maximum entitlement, not a minimum one.

Taylor's commentary, like the Trump presidency, has become a parody of itself. There's a part of me that feels a tad sorry for a bloke whom I suspect isn't an idiot but is forced to play one on TV for a living - truly a tragicomic existence.

Heard him making a dreadful pun about Jed Lamb after he was KO'ed today - bad enough that it wasn't remotely funny, but that he thought this was a moment for humour for a young bloke seriously injured suggests he's totally out of touch.

Cameron Ling is fully aware he's only just hanging on to his job. He has a face for radio (not TV), and a voice thats marginal at best. He gets by on his popularity and doing what he's told. He was quite good at it, until earlier this year there was a pronounced change in his approach.

He went from impartial, to full on Vic bias. It seems clear to me that c7 management said that our biggest audience is Victorian, and you need to play to the audience. Ling, having little power, could only comply.

Worst thing about Ling is his constant spruking of this Ablett to Geelong move. If I was the Gold Coast, I would be lodging a formal complaint.

Darcy is the most pro-vic, and a complete imbecile. He has some sway at C7, so his position is as stupid as he is. He is not a smart person.

BT, is BT. Plays the fool, and if you take him seriously, then its your fault. I dont see him as particularly biased, because all fans across all teams think he's biased against them. At the end of the day, he wants an exciting game.

Dwayne Russell, is the worst of the worst. Very poor voice for commentating and stupid comments. He must be paid about 30K, so he'll stay cause he's cheap.

Piggy Dunstall, hates the swans for taking Buddy and beating them in 2012. Take his narkiness as a complement. Nothing better than seeing the hawks spend the next decade in the cellar.

Just on the Ablett possible move I hope it does not happen or we'll be subjected to the media story of Abletts homecoming n every imbecile in the media cheering for a Geelong premiership from the get go. It'll be as sickening as the "bravedogs" story.

I dont mind that. It was a mighty pack mark to "save" the game. Essendon should have saved it then. They had posession and about a minute to wind down. Instead they bombed it long, almost Richmond like.
