No one has Norf as their second team! You should have a look at their BF site about the Nick Blakey decision. Some were actually wishing him to do an ACL in this weeks U18 game. Immature and sick in the head types, I know every club has them but some clubs have them way out of proportion and Norf is one of those clubs.

The lack of understanding around COLA and academies and the use of completely false facts to support their arguments, particularly by Vic based supporters, is frightening. It is of course led by limpy himself Eddie Maguire! The only sane and supporting posts on these matters seem to come from supporters of non Vic clubs.

Now when is this forum going to start retiring, delisting and trading players? It is now May!

How about we start with the retirement of Tippett and probably McVeigh, although he is playing exceptionally well.

Retirement of Tippett and delistings of at least Rose and Foote should be a good start. McVeigh likely to retire will open up a fourth list spot. Strike me down but I think AJ's position is looking shaky and will likely delisted too opening another rookie spot in the draft.

The Swans have a lot of contexts expiring this year considering its May. Expect a steady stream of re-signing announcements other the next 2-4 months.
          Of those expiring:

Pink - you'd think would get another year as a project player.
          Rose - gone
Johnson - likely to be cut
          Foote - gone
Sinclair - done enough for a 2yr extension
Cameron - maybe one more year if they think he's got it, or holding depth considering Naismith is no guarantee
Towers - 2yrs at low rate
Ronke - 2-3yr extension likely if last week wasn't a one off
Newman - will want a trade and probably get one
Aliir - maybe another year, maybe trade bait if he can't ever deliver on potential
Marsh - impressed and worth another year for depth
Naismith - another year to see how he goes
Lloyd - huge risk here if we can't sign him soon, alarm bells. Offer him 3-4yrs on mid range coin
Grundy - maybe one more, maybe not. Strong full backs don't grow on trees. Wait and see like McVeigh
McVeigh - arguably career best streak. Worth keeping on reduced wage and managing like Hodge
Maibaum - who knows.. worth holding if he has a good NEAFL year
          Fox - worth 1-2 years

You'd think 5-6 of the above, plus Tippett likely to be cleared off the roster.. we are going to need to use 2-3 picks on Blakey (the Murray trade makes sense). So will be interesting to see how this year progresses

If you want a laugh head over to Norf's BF thread on Father/Sons. Hilarious reading about Blakey then the AFL troll them by putting up an article about Cressa's two sons in North's Tassie academy but they are only eligible for us. That article has set them off again!

I doubt Maibaum is going anywhere... looks a likely KPD in the making to me.

Actually the AFL article says the Cresswell boys WOULD be eligible for North through their Tasmanian NGA because their mother has some indigenous heritage. But their father, Daryn Cresswell, hopes they are good enough when older to become Sydney F/S selections.

I assume the boys are living with their mother. Does anyone know which state Daryn lives (with his second wife)? I am wondering if the boys might come to Sydney to take part in the Sydney academy sometime in the future.

But you are right about the (immature) hysterics from North fans. While at the same time they are salivating about the prospect of getting Tarryn Tindall (Thomas), who is of indigenous descent, and has been talked about as one of Tasmania?s best prospects since he was about 14 with a clear pathway to the AFL draft. Yet North will have priority access to him simply because the AFL allocated North a zone in Tasmania for multicultural and indigenous kids. Boddo alerted us to this ?unintended consequence? of the NGA system a long time ago.

Quite hypocritical of North fans to complain about the Swans gaining access to Blakey through our academy (which I assume Blakey has been in for years) while accepting they should get Tindall-Thomas as an entitlement through their NGA.

NGAs are going to become farcical, the eligibility rules are so easy manipulated, and they are already with an article suggesting clubs were scouring backgrounds of TAC Cup players to see if they can be "made" eligible for priority drafting.

Future drafts, even this years, might become a joke with NGAs.

Yes, it would be nice if it quickly reached peak idiocy, with Collingwood trying to make a claim on Ben Silvagni, because; 'you know, he's ethnic and he plays for the Oakliegh Chargers, which is in our zone'.

It?s pretty difficult to get a fake birth certificate so no you can?t manipulate that part of eligibility.

It?s the eligibility rules for Victorian clubs in metropolitan Melbourne n Tasmania of indigenous players that is the issue as I?ve stated before and has finally been identified by the WA/SA clubs with a submission to the AFL.

He may well hit 80kg plus by draft

I think Reid joined us at 84kg from memory?

Sorry forgot other thread re drafting

                        Plse move when convenient
Just wondering if anyone has seen much of Blakey this season and if much has changed in his play from the footage Auntie.Gerald provided? I am really excited about all the high praise that is bestowed upon him and he has big wraps on him from people in the know!

But from the footage here from last year it looks to me that his kicking needs a bit of work. His ball drop is quite high and a little ordinary and he appears to lack penetration in his kicking which is a bit of a surprise for a left footer who normally are really good long kicks! Can anyone say if this has changed or improved this year and also his size? Thanks in advance!

                          Darcy Moore

Can't add this to the List Management thread due to the lingering site issues, so started a new thread instead

Damian Barrett reported on the Footy Show last night that the Swans have targeted Darcy Moore who comes out of contract at the end of the year and are well placed above other clubs chasing him. Eddie immediately bursted out the Swans will require 15 1st round picks! Read article which I can't link, reporting Peter Moore is supposedly friends with Andrew Ireland as a potential family link.

                            Wouldn't it be great?
Moore a pretty handy addition, but watching Eddie's melon explodingg?
Now, that would be the icing on the cake.

We could have a very interesting forward line in a couple of years....

                              HF : Franklin McCartin Blakey
                              FF : Hayward Moore Papley

                              Reid as the swingman.

Doesn't look half bad.... on paper anyway.

                                Reid for Moore

If Moore is really keen to leave it will help that deal.
Likely they would want more that Reid (I sure as hell would - I'm NARF - not a Reid fan )
