2018 trading, drafting and list management: players and personnel
Think we had a little bit of the west as well, maybe Spotswood?
Think your right Blood Fever. Found this VFL Zoning Metro map which seems to validate all these 3 zones on top of our country Riverina zone: Old Melbourne Metro VFL Zones : AFL
Also found this interesting Age article from 2015 which has a retrospective look at the old VFL zones:
Billy Lloyd Jake's older brother is playing at Port Melbourne this year.
I haven't had a chance to see him play yet but from all reports he is a good player.
Don't you always here when there is brothers playing watch out for the young brother he is best.

I grew up and played in the Upper Murray FL which was predominantly a Victorian league and we were in South's zone. It included Tumbarumba and Tumut in those days as well from NSW. As a result growing up we received a couple of visits from Mark Browning and other players taking clinics at school. The only player from our league that played at senior level was Dennis Carroll in my time. He only had one year at Tumbarumba as he was working in the bank there.
I have an old country zone map but can't work out how to paste it on here. If anyone knows how PM me and I'll send it to you.
Great research Keep South! John Heriot may have been from there. Could be wrong.
Not wrong! Also the late Fred Goldsmith. I often saw the two of them sitting together at Swans games in Melbourne. Looked like great mates. Heriot the Swans fullback of the century. Goldsmith the only fullback to win a Brownlow, but on the bench in the team of the century.

By coincidence Dennis Carroll features on the Swans web site having made his senior debut on this day 37 years ago:
Not sure where to post this: I think they've finally gotten around to updating the player profiles on sydneyswans.com.au for this year. At least some of them have been updated since last time I checked (which wasn't that long ago).
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Max Otten. Ricky O?Loughlin. Chris Daniher (maybe the good genes were used up by the first 3?). Trevor Mitchell (brother of Barry). Paul Atkins (to be honest, I?m not sure which one of the twins came out second). Gary Stevens (Anthony had a bit more success). Justin Crawford. Apart from Daniher, the rest of them played at least twos with us.
