    I'd want to keep...

Dean Towers - if we lose all of the above, be is the best of the bunch to keep (we can lose *everyone* )
    Jake Lloyd - obviously
Harrison Marsh - definite depth player
Robbie Fox - something about him I like and see him evolving
Surely Maibaum has shown enough? I agree on the others.

I don't think we'll be able to delist too many as we already have at least three seniors moving on already and a couple of our draft picks will be spent on Blakey.

Yep. The club knew that kicking was his issue when we recruited him.

McCartin’s field kicking is reasonable. Not perfect and he grubs the odd one, but certainly ok. With his set shot kicking he just looks like he doesn’t have a routine that he’s confident in. That might be easier to fix than a fluent but errant routine.

Anyone who viewed the NEAFL GF would say we definitely should give Rose a contract extension. He had an enormous game, almost certainly his best since a Swan. And he did everything under pressure. It wasn't just a one off either, because he's really turned it up this year. He's had a lot of areas to work on to clean up the weak parts of his game over the 4 years since being drafted. But he always had talent and flair. Now finally, when it all seems to have come together and he's becoming the player we hoped he would be, some say we should delist him. It doesn't make sense.

Towers, Robinson and Marsh are list cloggers. We shouldn't be carrying players just to fill in when we have a long injury list. All 3 are from the 2012 draft. If a player can't make the best 25 after 6 years, it's time to go.

Agree with Robinson and Marsh needing to go, but I still think Towers is a decent player who we should keep for another year - I don't think he was given enough opportunities this season, given last season I thought his performances certainly had improved upon what he had produced in previous years.

I base my opinions on what I see in the seniors.
I don't watch the reserves. Really minimal interest.
So I admit my opinions are not based on the whole picture.
Every time Rose has had a run in the seniors, he's flopped, and he's had a few chances.
But I'm happy to move forward with him if the club also sees some light at the end of the tunnel.
Or maybe they assess him as someone who can't perform in the big tent?

Has anyone else wondered if we have an adequate strength and conditioning program?

I am not sure we get this right. Players like Robinson, Towers, Marsh and Rose - who have been around the club for some time - do not seem to have developed their physiques. Some other clubs seem to prioritise this more.

It would be nice to have some of our fringe players develop some muscle mass and core strength to at least stand up in the contest and not get pushed around by the opposition when they come in to our senior team.

Agree, Ludwig and I would also give Maibaum another year as he, COR and Rose battled hard in the GF and showed leadership to the young Academy boys.

The thing I notice when I see him play, particularly in the ressies, is he does selfish things. Most notably having a ping for goal when there are people in better positions or taking on tacklers when it's not necessary. Does not comply with the Bloods ethos.

yes those three were the only ones to really standout. Of the others only Cameron appeared to be of the standard required. Having watched Dawson yesterday and the Hawthorn game i am worried he is not going to be what many think he may be

Ha! That reminds me of the story Darren Jolly told about breaking the news of his move back to Melbourne to his father.

‘Dad, I’ve got some good news and some bad news.’

‘The good news is that I’m moving back to Melbourne.’

‘The bad news is that I’m going to play for Collingwood!’

I think we could do with some selfish players. Ones that are not scared to have a shot at goal like Davis was. Way too many times we look to pass off and STUFF UP the pass and turn it over.

Gee, Richo (St. Kinda coach) is a lot more upbeat about what body of work Hanners can produce than most people on here.

If we were looking for a short term cost effective player to add some size and ball winning ability in the midfield then maybe we could look at Michael Barlow.
Listed at 189 cm and statistically compares very well with Josh and Luke.
He has had some bad luck with injuries but he could be a good stop gap if we miss out on a big name mid this year. He was part of the leadership group at the Suns and would provide some experience for our young midfield group and would come pretty cheap
