[QUOTE=MattW;766722]Rowbottom looks a cracker. /QUOTE]
Was that pun intended? He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Rowbottom looks a cracker. I know these draft highlights videos need to be taken with a grain of salt, but in each play he went hard at the ball and moved quickly, with innovation, once he had it. He seems to have an inside and outside game - winning it out of contested situations, but also accepting handball receives at pace.
Blakey just looks a beast. Bigger than his opponents, powerful, uncompromising. He looks a winner, with self-belief and determination.
The first 2 rounds of the draft were really strong, but then fell away quickly. We did well to get Zac Foot with pick 51. Since we don't have to look for players to come into the senior side immediately, we have the luxury of looking further into the future with our picks, which accounts for why we took players like McInerney and Reynolds. It could also be a shrewd selection with Tucker, dropping out consideration by recruiters mainly due to having not played this year. If there are no ill affects from the ACL, he could be another 1st round rookie success story.
I'm sure we'll be looking back on this draft as pivotal to the Swans story for 2020s.Comment

Just saw the Rowbottom highlight reel and it was good.
Most exciting was that i saw him shepherd.
Hoping he can teach the rest of the team this basic skill....The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Listed at 187cm and 72kg, McInerney is regarded as a gut-running wingman.
“Someone that can break lines, break through zones and take the game on,” Knights talent manager Rhy Gieschen said.
“His kicking is really low, hard and penetrating, so he can get the ball from point a to point b really quickly.”
...
“Justin’s attitude is first rate. Always first at training, trained with a purpose,” Mayne said.
“Worked really hard on his game, listened to feedback. He really questions it too, questions his role, he’s a real sponge.
“He’s got really good game sense. An intelligent boy, he works it out quickly.Comment

Did AJ nominate for the draft?
If nothing comes of his effort to be on an AFL list again is it likely he would come back to us as an assistant coach for the NEAFL (or another role for us, considering his experience in coaching while on the injury list)team or is he dirty on us for de-listing him. I hope the latter is not true.Comment

That is amazing Tucker was able to move around & drive car after just 14 days having the op. Compared to when I did my ACL back in the 80's where my leg was in a full plaster cast for 6 weeks and still needed crutches thereafter as my leg had lost all muscle tone. Wonder if Tucker is able to fully train now & join in pre-season?Comment

I hope so too. Sick and tired of yelling out 'shepherd you lazy bastard' as our players leave the ball carrier exposed and hang back looking for a HB. Again and again and again, getting repetitive? So's the lack of shepherding. Players standing back yelling 'Give it to me, give it to me.'Comment

He stuffed that up. The coach who drafted him to the TAC Cup team said that it was his form for Marcellin when he came into the team that made them look at him. He was then invited to train with the Northern Nights and played very well. Injuries have been a concern for this young bloke but he seems to have turned the corner.Comment
