But the highlight for me was Kennedy's clearance masterclass in the last quarter. One of those zones where the ball is drawn inexorably towards him and then he either releases a runner with a handpass or pumps it into the forward 50. A beautiful thing to watch.
When Kennedy is firing, he brings many other players into the game. Very similar to the effect Diesel Williams had. Our most important player by some margin.

Interesting comment by Kane Cornes the AFL site video: "The round so far". They showed an image of Sydney's fourth term goalkickers - Fox (2), Hayward (2), Florent, Jones & Ronke and he said "If you told me these guys would kick your seven goals in the last quarter, before the game, I would have laughed".

I can't say I would have disagreed, either. It's great that they all stood up at the end. I thought Rohan was very good in the last quarter as well, but almost non-existent in the third quarter. (I got the feeling that he had a very tough day - looked to be getting beaten up a bit in the third).

But the thing is, it only makes a different if we are winning the ball in the middle, and Kennedy was obviously the one who did it for us. I'm inclined to agree that the Swans are too dependent on one player, but that player isn't Buddy Franklin - it's Josh Kennedy.

It is always hard to see what everyone on the field is doing when watching on television. I couldn't see what Robinson's role was: was he running with someone? People are being quick to write him off, but continuity of games has done wonders for Towers, for example. Cunningham, too, has owned his role as linkman, perhaps thanks to getting long strings of games. I'm not necessarily a Robinson booster (I think that he probably won't get too many more games, esp with O'Riordan pressing and Dawson to make his return), but feel a bit for him.
Rohan looked very good: tackle, pressure, and that play along the wing when he handballed to himself and then screwed that inboard kick was a matchbreaker for me. Terrific stuff.
Sinclair was BOG however. Just magnificent, competing and winning the taps, roving his own ball, and clunking big marks along the wing. What a game. He looked so pumped at the end. My hero. And as for McVeigh . . . brilliant game.

Pretty sure Robinson was meant to be tagging Tuohy. Another interesting role was Mills on the wing, I assume he took over Hanners?s usual spot.

Rohan was the key forward and was double teamed most of the game which made it tough for him.

But really, when you are the key target and you get outshone by newbies fox and ronke.....

A golden opportunity for him in coming games without buddy or Reid

Tuohy was actually pretty quiet for the game. At one point I saw Hewett on him but Hewett was also responsible for several of those final quarter centre clearances, so he probably swapped on and off Tuohy.

My impression from watching the replay closely today was that Hewett was responsible for Selwood when he was in the midfield.

Find your biggest black permanent marker, take the cap off it, and put a big mark thru Robinson. He's done.

Career seems done. Marsh was ordinary also. Like Ronke'sdebut and Fox' s game. Ronke looks like he has serious pace. Does anyone know how fast he is in comparison to others?

Marsh was being zked to shut down a KPP about 10cm taller than him and did what he was asked. Not a bad game when you look at it.

Agree with this - got beaten up by bigger defenders in the third quarter and did basically nothing. His CD stats were interesting - I know how you love those, barry.

                        First quarter: 6 (good)
                        Second quarter: 0.5 (poor)
Third quarter: -4 (ie. he helped the opposition more than he helped us - we would have been better off if he wasn't on the field)
                        Fourth quarter: 4 (ok)

I missed the first half because I was out and the stupid PVR didn't work, but I thought those 3rd and 4th quarter stats were a pretty fair reflection of his game. We was good in the last and involved in a few key scores, including Hayward's sealer and I think one of Fox's where he worked the ball down the line to himself and kicked it inside 50.

Rohan does tend to contribute telling plays in the final quarter. I'm not sure whether that is his speed against tiring players, his mind clears and he just plays, or he's only clutch.

I actually mentioned Jones kicking after last weeks game.
He lifts the ball up to high before dropping onto his boot.
So it takes longer and he gets caught or its telegraphed and the kick is smothered

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
