As someone said, Cunningham did a great job. He's grown as a player and leader this year.

I don't think Aliir lost us the game but if he had played as well as he has played the past couple of games we would have won. We really missed his rundowns and long arm spoils. It was as though he was completely rattled. Whatever the Hawks planned for him obviously worked.Comment

Disappointed that Dawson had a poor game. Really want to see him in the team though as I believe he has plenty of talent. Hope he can have an injury free pre-season and come in fit and firing in 2019. I'd imagine he's possibly played his last game for 2018 though with Buddy and Parker to return.

Horse was asked a question about Reid at his presser but went on to mention others that probably won't play next game but seemed were roughly in the wings. Included was Mills. Mmmmm. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Disappointing, since I really thought that was there to be won at 3/4 time.
Felt like they just fumbled their way to a loss. Hawks did what you need to do in the crunch pressure moments: clean hands, good ball use, good decisions. Swans didn't. Too many inexperienced heads maybe.
Well, there is still hope while we're still in it.Comment

He has had a very, very solid season for mine. Was great tonight I though. Both he and Hewett should be top 10 at worst in the B&F in my opinion, Hewett possibly quite a bit higher than that."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Just looking at the stats, too many of our fringe/young players don't get enough of the ball to have any impact. Single figure possession numbers doesn't cut it these days in the AFL. While good teams move the ball around with ease sharing it by hand and foot, we kick to packs and hope for the best which makes it hard for the lighter framed young players to get involved in some easy possession.
Our biggest problem is that our strong bodied veteran players have horrible skills and turn it over by hand and foot, even when under minimal pressure. This has been an issue for many many years and I wonder whether its the style of play that the coaches train for as we have never been able to sustain a game plan that is pleasing to the eye for more than a week or two consecutively where we hit up players and score freely. We always tend to fall back into this dour low scoring rubbish that keeps teams in the game where the highly skilled teams chop us up when it counts.
Do we not work hard enough in this area at training and in pre-season as I haven't seen an improvement in this area while teams like Richmond, Collingwood, West Coast and others have all of a sudden moved past us playing a fast, skilled and high scoring brand of footy!
It's hard to watch and no doubt everyone on here and most people who don't even follow us would have expected a low scoring tight contest tonight. Because we are predictable in the fact that we don't have the ability to come out and put teams to the sword anymore.... changes need to be made this off season.

There was a moment last night where hannebery had the ball in the back pocket and alir lead to space. Could have kicked it to him and should of but didn't. Shortly afterwards they showed what looked like the two arguing heatedly. I also note that Reg's last game was north melb when Alir shone. Reg comes back and Alir turns into a fumbling mess.
I also saw hannebery yelling at someone on the boundary when he came off after injuring his leg.
At times it looked more like the RWO after match discussion out there than a cohesive happy team.
Just saying. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

What else could have turned things around? We should have been an extra couple of goals ahead at half-time, after dominating in the second quarter. The misses from Hayward and Dawson (first quarter?) stick out as they were very gettable but there were other chances went begging. Even in the final quarter, Kennedy's set shot was well within his repertoire, and Jack had the time and space to steady and get a better kick away.Comment
