As soon as he's forced to defend one on one the head drops and the confidence evaporates. He was away with the fairies tonight.

Can anyone tell me why Hanabery took that free kick when he got the trip/ corkie? He could barely walk. Should have lay down and let fit Swan take it. It was one of the moments in 3rd quarter along with the touched kick of Ronke

We won't beat either of them. Especially GWS. Hell we wouldn't bloody beat the Bulldogs or Brisbane the way we are playing at home this season!

The goal early in the 4th when Mitchell infringed on the mark and they got a second go as well - which we then obligingly let them find a free man Ridiculous that it got called back when the attacking team's player was the one that infringed.
If a Swans player had infringed it would have been a 50m penalty. It was a technically correct call

Just looking at the table. If the Giants beat Melbourne, we drop to sixth and host the seventh placed Geelong. If Melbourne win, they go to fifth and everybody else shuffles back one; meaning that we host the Giants. If it's a draw tomorrow, we host Melbourne. I think the final option may be the preferred one, but that's obviously a long shot.

That's why I wanted to play Richmond in the first week.....I reckon we were a fair chance to snap their MCG winning streak. We play well there. Oh well, we'll beat Melbourne but GWS may be a challenge.

And if we happen to win 2 finals we would play tigers in a prelim. Would have much rathered play them week 1 and avoid them till the granny. Not to be in any case so no big deal.

Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

EVERYONE injures Hanners. Is there ever a game where he doesn't end up rolling around on the ground, clutching some body part, writhing or wincing in agony, only to get up and hobbling around a bit, invariably wave off a trainer or medico & stoically continues playing? Or else leaves the ground, is put back together with a dozen rolls of sports tape & then stoically continues playing?

One thing that kills be about tonight we will NEVER EVER get a free kick count in our favour exp against the AFL darlings ever again and it was squandered.i thought I was in the twilight zone.
Saying that, Swans have played better away from home so if we get through the first round then who knows what happens.

Yep. I'd be more confident of playing away at the G or in the West in a final than at home as a favorite. We are a weak minded team that always struggles to play as favorites. We play much better with our backs against the wall... on talent alone we should never have lost to Hawthorn at home, even with those players out! They are also missing some quality players.

Every week I yell at the tv for the players to move further back from the mark because we love kicking it into the man on the mark. It didn't help Ronke that it was McEvoy!

One good thing I noticed tonight - our young blokes got a bit more aggressive. I was pleased to see Hayward and Florent stand up for themselves a few times - we need to be bloody hard when Buddy is not there.

McCartin is having a tough time but I honestly think he can handle it. A bit more support next year and he might be dangerous.

It was a good game tonight, we really just didn't have the firepower up forward without Buddy. And Parker was a big out too...

Regarding tonight. I thought some of our younger players are standing up well to pressure, Hewitt is good, Hayward showed some promising signs, Heeney is a wizard, Florent got some of the ball We just needed some more experienced heads in there.

Never fear, the finals are here, and so are we...so all's good.
I think we’re better than a 6th placed side. I’m hoping with a stronger rested side we’ll be able to be competitive against the Cats (who flog sides in the bottom half of the ladder, but have not been great against real contenders) & the Dees (who are hot and cold & we match up ok against). GW$ are probably the biggest challenge, but I think with a reasonably strong squad, we’re a chance against them. To be honest, the biggest obstacle is that it’s being played at the SCG
